I wish the people of Marmet would speak up with me & go to the city meetings and complain about all these golf carts and 4 wheelers running the streets, somebody is going to get hurt, and the police will not do anything, I have complained to the police and they tell me the council needs to add an ordanince to stop this, and as long as they stay in the city streets and the burm of the road it's not aginst the law. I just about crashed into a golf cart on Washington Ave the other night because I could not see it. The town has let all sorts of kids operate vehicles, did anyone see the labor day parade? Kids riding motorcycles, 4 wheelers, and one was driving a car for christ sakes. Lets bond together and get something done.

I hear you, but they don't really bother me. If it bothers you, speak up I guess, I just think there are bigger issues in Marmet. I assume you are talking about Rusty on Washington Avenue. Why not just talk to him? As for the parade, they were going like 1 mph, not actually "driving", so I don't think it hurt anything. But like I said, do what you like.

I really don't see the golf carts as a problem. I'm sure if you really checked into it, there is probably a state code against operating them on city streets, but Bill Pauley is not going to let law enforcement push an issue that may cause him a vote.

The PD was asked about this and said if they stopped one, they had to stop them all. Which is really the point. Nothing will happen to cost the Mayor votes.

Apparently he's counting on the druggie vote too because he won't let them do anything about that either.

I have to say, I saw a golf cart out the other evening, I think it was Rusty. It was getting dark and I barely saw it. I was driving to Krogers and the person driving the cart was headed in the other direction on the opposite side of the road. I they are going to be allowed to run these things after dark then some kind of lighting should be mandatory for the safety of all involved. If it had been any later in the evening this person could have been hit by another vehicle and seriously hurt.

Let me tell you about the golf carts, dirt bikes and 4 wheelers. I have had it!! It's a shame you can't sit in your own yard and enjoy the evening without 8 and 10 year olds on those friggin things running back and forth for hours. And yes it IS against the law.I have called 911 numerous times and yes they have came out and made them park up but as soon as they leave they are back out there at it again.I pay my taxes just like everyone else.My husband has to get up at 2:00 AM to go to work and he goes to bed at 9:00. But these kids are out on those things until sometimes 10:30 at night. I've seen many a car have to dodge or slam on their brakes to avoid hitting them. Most of the time you see 3 little boys on an adult 4 wheeler popping wheelies. When one gets hit and there parent try's to sue the driver for hitting them I will be the first to stand up in court and tell all. We have the most pathetic excuses for police that I have ever seen. Nothing but a bunch of cocky, womanizing old farts who need to step down and let some young men who aren't afraid of their shadows to do get the job done. If they would start writing tickets to the parents and calling a tow truck maybe this would stop.

First, spell citizen correctly. Second, I would imagine your husband needs more than five hours sleep. Finally, I understand (if it is a concern and not a reason to complain) your worry, but I would rather see a kid on a four wheeler with a helmet than selling drugs on the street. Last time I checked, no one in Marmet has more than 3/4 an acre so I would imagine cars driving by your house is a nuisance. Don't mean to be rude, but there are bigger problems; for example, four wheelers or drug dealers?

It is a shame that people are complaining about four wheelers and gold carts. Really? That is a comparison to kids playing ball and having innocent fun without committing a crime. First, priority is drugs. Do u have the solution? Secondly, let's focus on the mayor's yard. It is an eyesore for anyone thinking about buying property in Marmet.

I think that it's ok to ride fourwheelers and golf carts. At least they aren't out there doing drug and dealing drugs.

I say worry about the thieves and drugs in our town. Then when that is under control worry about the little things. I would rather see children out and about where I can see what they are doing. The children I would worry about are not the children on 4 wheelers and golf carts. Everyone sees what they are doing obviously. So they are not the ones stealing and doing drugs. I'm sure if they were, it would be reported on every social network for the town.

#1 it is against the state law for these to be on the roads. if marmet isnt stopping it call the deputys or state police.
