Why does the state allow people to litter by letting them place sheets and paper cups on the fence at the mouth of Cabin Creek? They do not remove them and they remain there until the weather causes them to ... via The Charleston Gazette

It is very trashy to see sheets hanging along the AEP Fence. I think who hangs them up should be charged for littering.

Its not so much that they hang them there, it is that they dont take them down. But tell me really, how are they going to fine anyone, go door to door until they find the party responsible. That would take a lot of man hours that the police could be using to take people off the street who are committing more serious crimes.
I am sure that the trash will stay down at the mouth of the hollow for a lot longer. It may be annoying, but I dont see it stopping any time soon.

Carissa you are a complete idiot. If you don't like Cabin Creek then get the hell out. I see that you live in Sharon... well Sharon is not the best town to live in up Cabin Creek. If Cabin Creek is trashy then get off your lazy ass and help clean it up. Also please stop with the run on sentences that really gets on my nerves.

I don't think people should worry about those sheets at the end of the creek, as much as the rest of it. All you see when u come up it is people standing by the roads drinking & houses looking like crap cause people just don't worry about what their place looks like & not to mention the roads, I don't think the state is going to do anything anytime soon to fix them. There is so much junk in people's yards that they no they are never going to do anything with it. If they would worry less about getting another beer in their hands and more on their home and their community then maybe it might turn out to be a better looking place. But not only one person can solve the problem, it takes more! Alot more! So then maybe people won't make bad comments about Cabin Creek, about any of it!

So you people know, I happen to live in one of those houses that probably should have been torn down years ago, it is well over 100 years old and had very little mantanence done on it before my family left it to me. In case you guys were unaware most of us on Cabin Creek fall below the poverty line. In case you don't know what a poverty line is, I'll dumb it down for you, that's why probably over half of us buy our groceries around the first of the month with an EBT card. I am one of those people and that means I just can't run down Lowe's and get everything to fix this place today, though we are trying.
I also am one of those people with a yard full of junk. My husband is a machanic, and he keeps parts for everything from 4wheelers to motorcycles to cars and trucks, everywhere in my yard, and though it really aggravates the crap out of me too, I thought, or at least, last time I checked, this was a free society where I am supposed to be able to have or do what I want as long as it isn't hurting anyone else. So, since I am not breeding mosquitos, back the f@#$ off.
After all, I know you people who ride up on your high horse and look down your nose at me, are the same people who are gonna be knocking on my door trying to find cheep parts when the dealer wants a bundle for something used.
In other words, mind your business, worry about what is in your yard not mine!!!!!!!!!! And further more, when community clean up is done by the local church groups in the summer, know my kids are right out there, are yours? And, too, are you throughing things out by the road, because I am not. I know someone is or the ditch wouldn't be full when the guys come around, with armed guards, doing their public service in the summer. If more people took responsibility for their own actions, this would be a perfect world! But until then, we are all stuck in this place together and we should be a little more tolerant of the way things are, unless you have a way to help and not hurt, don't bitch. Almost every one of you said something needs done, why not do something, organize something, or at least make suggestions before accusations. In the end, that is the only way to get what you want, because if you are hostel, people don't want to help, they only want to hurt back.

I don't think anyone is trying to make anyone mad, I think they are just saying their opinion. Isn't this website what this is for, different opinions?

You are right, this is a place for everyone to voice their opinion and I am glad to heard all sides, I didn't mean to get down on anyone, in that respect. I really want to see this site help the community, though. I was having a bad day, lol.
If you guys want to put some effort in lets see what we can do to help. I know that here, in Ohley, I am in the process of getting one abandon house torn down, by UKVEC and hope to see more abandon homes demolished. They are a haven for people out to do the wrong thing be it drugs, vilence or arson. I would like to see the community cleaned up. Let's get some ideas together.
You guys help me out. I edit this site, and I have decided not to edit anyone's comments, because I believe in free speech. So, get your comments in here, I know I want to hear them and so do a lot of other people. You can remain anonimous, so don't be afraid to speak out.
Feel free to email me with story ideas or if you feel like you would like to give an interview or know someone else who you'd like to see interviewed. Email me at cabincreekblog@aol.com.
Oh, and by the way shorty9, Stout isn't a guy.

It starts with Education. Good Heavens, use proper English if you want to be taken seriously. The problem is:ENTITLEMENT. People think they are entitled to take, spend, destroy, steal or assume everything that is within their reach. Out of sight out of mind, just like a used cup from McDonald's. When was the last time Cabin Creek Hollow had trash containers placed along the road, so beer drinkers, smokers and fast food fanatics wouldn't have to throw their containers onto the roadway? Wake-Up People, Every infraction that is witnessed and igored IS your responsibility. Turning a blind eye, is the SAME as acceptance! Stand-Up for your self and your community.

Just curious, on all the extra stuff you have in your yard for us to buy - do you pay taxes on the income you get for all this? Not trying to be mean but I have seen time and time again this "excuse" for junking up a yard but no taxes are paid. And do you work? If you both work, fine - if not, then why don't you get a job so you don't have to have extra help?

OhleyGirl does not run a junk yard. Her husband drags the stuff in and if some one needs something he will sell it to them, or trade for something he needs. but if it was up to ohley girl none of the sh** would ever be in her yard
