Virginia maintains 57,867 miles of roadway. These roads are essential to our economy and way of life. Now our elected officials are forming public-private partnerships for the arteries around our port cities. Yes, our bridges and tunnels are expensive, but at the same time, they are critical to Virginia's economy, not just the people who depend on them daily. The extraordinary tolls necessary for these public-private ventures will turn our roads into barriers for many, including students, military, and anyone already struggling to make ends meet. It will also be damaging to small businesses that rely heavily on our roads for customer, employees, goods and services. Tell our elected officials "No" to public-private partnerships and the tolls today.
