Why do people in GB and HICKory think they are better than everyone else?

The problem with steel jackass & all the other names that he posts under, is that he's one of the Obamaites that thinks everything should be handed to him. He still wouldn't be happy if it was because those kind of people love wallowing in self pitty. But if someone has worked hard & done well in life he's going to be jealous & full of hatred towards that person.

I found this forum while researching Chesapeake schools. My family and I were transferred here a week ago and are looking for the best area to live. Seems as though Chesapeake has problems on both sides. Based on the comments here, I am inclined to move to either Hickory or Great Bridge school district. I do not want my children going to school where the mentality of the parents is so narrow that they encourage their "offspring" to bully others.

We are from NJ and race is not a big issue there. People are people, regardless of skin color. Some people choose to be lazy and live on socialist programs and disregard a true pursuit of education. It is that class of people we do not associate with. I have worked hard for everything I provide for my family (as should any man) and they work hard for their education. We do not hand out silver spoons.

As for some of the neighborhoods we have researched, holy crap what a difference. Some areas are absolutely 9th Ward appearance and others look "unlived in". We will choose the one in between, well kept lawns and no tires or garbage strewn about. Amazing how we were sitting at a red light on battlefield blvd and watch a lady at the gas station next to us empty the entire contents of her SUV onto the ground and kick it away with her heel. Wow, what a great representation!

Let me close this by saying... I lived in several areas and it is always the same (minus the race issues). School test schools fail to reflect what really goes on, race percentages mean nothing, home prices reflect nothing. We have found that blogs lik this, driving through areas and talking with out in their yards is a close reflection of the people.

I have lived in Great Bridge for 25 years and love it. I am from NJ and also and a Navy wife of 25yrs. I don't think you can go wrong with either schools. Hickory is maybe a little stonger but not much. Check out Chesapeake Colony in Great Bridge it is a great neighborhood. Thank you for you sevvice.
