I think this is an appropriate time to first and foremost commend our young men and women of the Chesapeake Youth Football League. They are a class act and a joy to watch. Good luck next week in the Turf Bowl.

I also so feel it is the perfect time to commend Chris Perry and the members of the Chesapeake Youth Football League. You have provided a positive environment in which these young men an women can grow and learn. You guysare doing a wonderful job.

We have three teams representing our community next weekend at Marshall's stadium. Let's get out there and let everybody know what Panther Pride is all about. It's a wonderful day to be a panther. GO PEAKE!

Cpeake shouldn't be there. That is crazy a team that won one game all yr goes to Turfbowl? Lets all rally together and make it to where only good teams who have won and deserve to be in a playoff goes. Not teams who don't even win all year.

Let's see? I don't want to be petty but at the end of the semi final playoff game the D and E teams were the winners so in my opinion, they deserve to be there more than anybody else. I didn't start this thread for all the haters to chime in. You're welcome to comment as I have no control over that but if you're just salty, start your own thread.

I neglected earlier to mention our coaches who have worked with our boys all year long as well as the parents who have put in the time to make sure these young men and women could play ball. I'm super proud of my community and our youth football league. You can be salty all you want at the end of the day and at the end of the week, the Panthers will play for a turf bowl championship and win or lose they will be our sons and daughters. And we'll be just as proud of them for going out and competing with style and class. Go PEAKE!

Hopefully, it will be changed so all the hard working teams that won all yr will be the only ones who get playoff chances. Not go to Turfbowl on some fluke.

I hardly think it was a fluke as our D team never lost a game by more than a touchdown. You can harp all you want and say what you please. You'll have to. Be salty. We didn't make the rules and had those teams with better records played harder on that fateful day, we wouldn't be having this conversation. I take offense that you say they don't deserve to be there. Yes they had a 1-6 record for the regular season but they found the fortitude to play hard and win games when the chips were stacked against them. I don't know where you're from and don't really care. We are proud of our kids and I'll defend their "Right" to play till the end. I mean when the playoffs started, who beat them?

Please remember you are talking about 7 & 8 yr old children. They are just happy to play. Please just be happy for them. They are just children after all, let them enjoy their moment.

In response to "upset" - My child plays on one of these Turf-Bowl bound teams, and the E, D, and C teams have improved every week. All of our teams have improved every week. I take offense that you think they shouldn't have made it to Turf Bowl. These boys eat, sleep, and breathe Panther Football! They have learned what it means to be a part of a team. They have learned how to lose, they have learned how to win, and they have learned how to be proud either way! I commend ALL of our coaches, board members, team moms, and all of the other volunteers that help to make our teams what they are. I commend the parents of these kids that sacrifice to make sure these kids are able to play. We stand in the cold, in the freezing rain, and in the heat to support our kids. Whether our teams win or lose at the Turf Bowl, we will wear our purple with pride this coming weekend. You shouldn't be jealous because your team didn't make it to Turf Bowl. And besides, if your team would have made it to the Turf Bowl, you'd probably be playing against our Panthers that have improved so much these past few months!! You should be happy for our kids - happy to see kids being kids and getting the chance to play the big game, no matter what color jersey they wear. They are kids, they are happy, and they are very proud just to be able to say they are going to Turf Bowl. You should get over being a sore loser and come watch our Panthers dominate next weekend! Maybe next year will be your year for Turf Bowl, but the way it's looking, the Peake is going to be there again and again and again! To ALL of our football players and cheerleaders, coaches, and fellow parents, thank you for a great season of games and cheering! I can't wait to see those Panthers on that big field Saturday!! Way to go, PEAKE!

If any team deserves it they do. They was the last seed, beat all the best teams ( the teams you think should only make the playoffs) to get to where they are at. Not to mention your talking about 7 and 8yr. olds who busted their tails to get there!!! Quit knocking kids down!!!

The bottom line here is that Tri-State Youth Football League makes the rules. We just play by them. There will always be jealousy from within and without. This is a Chesapeake forum and this thread is about holding the youth of our community up. They accomplished an awesome feat by working their way through the playoffs as the underdog. None of these teams even gave them a second thought until the games started. They have grown and learned the game and came out on top. For any of you out there really concerned about it there is always next year. Teach your kids to overcome in the face of adversity.

To our community, this is a big deal for these young men and women. On Saturday we will follow them to the stadium and watch them compete and win or lose, we'll take pride in each and every one of them. Let's cover Marshall's stadium in a sea of purple and go out and celebrate the youth of our community. Go PEAKE!

Yes they did. It was actually embarrassing. They had no idea who to cover. SP torched them. But there excuse will be "we run the ball". Double Wing BS that wins them a few games every year against OVC doormat teams.

Talk all you want. They will run the ball. And there is a new ball runner in town this year.
