Proctorville Topix is having a lot of discussion about the Chesapeake Schools billboard. Where is it located? I'd like to see it to make my own opinion. Thanks.

One thing I found interesting on the billboard is that Chesapeake High School has NEVER achieved excellent school status until 2011. That's right Chesapeake High School is excellent for the first time EVER. Wow, isn't that something to brag about? Also, the Chesapeake School District has NEVER been an "Excellent Academic District" and is not again this year. Panther Pride ?????

You are exactly right. panther pride!!!!!! I'd rather be a Panther than a Dragon anyday. School of excellence or not. You have talked trash all week even had a so called panther funeral, how classy was that. Then you loose ( and loose big time I must say) and it becomes well we make better grades. Hahaha, school of excellence? That and a $1.49 will get you a coke.

What brought up the discussion on student testing is the huge billboard in Chesapeake talking about Peaks excellent ratings on student testing. Totally intentionally misleading to the public. Good try but FAIRLAND is the ONLY SCHOOL DISTRICT in Lawrence County and beyond to EARN this notable distinction of "EXCELLENT SCHOOL DISTRICT". Talk about your great athletics all you want but don't try to fool the public about academics. FAIRLAND IS # 1. You are also paying way to much for coke.

I'd rather be from Chesapeake where people aren't quite as smart than from Fairland any day. Their "holier than thou" attitude makes me sick. Colleges don't care if you went to a school of excellence or not and neither does anyone else outside of Proctorville.

You have concluded that Chesapeake people are not quite as smart as Fairland people. I disagree. Your school district is responsible for teaching and motivating students to excell to the best of their ability. Fairland pushes academics and the students respond. Chesapeake pushes sports and you win ball games. I'll take the academic achievements anytime over atletics.

With all of your "academic achievements" you still can't spell athletics??

If Fairland people are so smart, why can't they set up a mathematical equation and solve for why Chesapeake still whipped their ass the other night?

Sigh.

Arguing of test scores is silly. The schools teach to the test, it just so happens that Fairland is better at it. I'd rather see more hands on learning experience in all the schools.

Fairland is UNDEFEATED against Chesapeake academically. Undefeated. No losses EVER.

What's funny is that that's the only thing you idiots have to hold against them. When applying for colleges, coming from a "school of academic excellence" and coming from Chesapeake will mean absolutely NOTHING and I know this for a FACT. Chesapeake will continue to dominate in sports and THAT, colleges will recognize.

They can tell their professors in college that their school district was OVC champs. You people need counseling and soon.
