I know Dale Boulevard (heading towards Mapledale Plaza) was closed off right as I was heading to work this morning. I had to backtrack and detour to Hoadly Road. Didn't see many problems on the PW Parkway, 123, or Fairfax County Parkway.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rt. 1 at Cardinal Dr. is underwater (Pr. Wm.). The new barricades have been working pretty well, but Friday morning the water was up to the bottom of the bridge. If the creek backs up beyond the back edges of the concrete jersey walls, it's all over. The new barriers will probably delay the floodwater from receding back into the creek as well. Prepare for a fun evening commute. But then agian, I'm guessing. Great job WUSA. NOT!

I live in the Frederick, MD area. I could go for a little bit of a drought right about now. 2 weeks ago, we got 3-4 inches and now close to another 5. FYI for you distance commuters, MD Rt. 17 was closed this morning between Myersville and Wolfsville. There was a lot of standing H20 and a few downed tree branches where it wasn't closed. Fortnately, the power stayed on.

As I noticed this morning about Dale Boulevard (at Mapledale). You're right the road is completely washed out and will likely be closed until the flooding recedes. They're calling for dry sunny conditions tomorrow so hopefully everything should be cleared late tonight into early tomorrow morning.

This is one time the schools should have been closed since there was a lot of road closures and public transportation delays. My son's bus was about 15 minutes late and come from a total different route than the normal.

Remember you have many viewers in Carroll and Frederick Counties, MD, especially in the Mt. Airy, MD, area, yet you never cover Carroll County and only seem to cover crime in the City of Frederick. Thousands of people commute from this region to Washington and locations surrounding the Beltway, but there were no flooded roads included in your list. I am home today because all of my routes to work in Montgomery County flood but you didn't include anything from those roads. Remember your audience.

I second the comment from Barbaa Fleming. I commute into DC from Frederick every day as do apparently thousands of other people. Please cover this area as well.

It is sad that mother nature could put us in a corner but the flipside is that we can take a rest from worrying about filling up at the gas station. Going to work will mean that we lose gasoline but we can conserve by letting our cars "sleep it off" in the parking lots or garages.

Rt. 1 between Belvoir and Mt. Vernon was a mess. It took me 20 minutes to get through that detour off Old Mill to my job on Cooper Rd. There was a accident where a Camry got up on 2 wheels when a VW bug hit it after the Camry swerved into its lane without warning on Old Mill and Rt 1.

"Lake Ridge
-Dale Boulevard from Maple Dale to Nassau Drive (all four lanes)"

Dale Boulevard is in Dale City, not Lake Ridge.
