“The reorganization of our police department will not take place until we are informed of the investigation of our department and the status of our Police Chief Woodrow Burgess and Captain Mike Allred,” Austell said.

In other words there was something said to our towns leadership about these two individuals. Obviously investigators have problems with the integrity of the leadership of the Cherryville police department and advised the town leadership they were specific targets of investigation. Why else would it be announced on Wednesday the same day as the indictments being unsealed that they were suspended with pay pending the OUTCOME of the ongoing FBI investigation.

It just gets better and better.

Is this the same mayor that allowed this mess in the first place?
I like Cherryville...some real nice folks there. I moved there for a few months last year but chose to leave when I had to deal with the corrupt utility department. Thankfully, I never interacted with the police department.
Are there going to be any payments to the ppl for all the over-charges for electricity and water? In four months they got me for about eight hundred over-charges. I just found out that THEY got found out.
