Years ago when "I" said things about this town, they in-as-much told me that if I didn't like it, then leave. I toughed it out; seemingly thinking that one day, what I didn't like would eventually stop. Yes, this town has seen everything unfold. It was very shocking, that some didn't realize that some were very dishonest. As the old saying goes, "What goes up, must come down". For years, if you weren't part of the "Elite", you didn't stand a chance and some were under the opinion that they "put their pants" on different. Regardless of what happened here, those individuals that have done harm to our citizen's do suffer now. Cherryville is at a loss, the town is no longer the way it use to be. We are a small town with people who suffer, people who try to do right by others. We shouldn't feel we have to bow our heads to what someone else has done any longer. Those who want to make us feel guilty for what other's have done, well you say what you want because you are only showing your own stupidity.

just about everyone in Cherryville is kin to one another.-- and therein lies the problem. And no, these are not "nice" people. They're corrupt and have generations of practice. I'm ashamed of the town and glad I got out decades ago. Here in the real world, it doesn't matter "Who's your mamma? Who's your daddy? Or, Where do ya go to church?" You're judged on merit outside your little fishbowl, and THAT is why the town is a laughingstock. You know it's bad when the people in Vale say "Well, at least we're not CHURVUL."
Glad you are in the real world.....tell ET that I said, "Hello". Sounds like you are one more miserable person!

Well I still live here. And I say that this smacks of corruption just like everything else that has been going on in this city for generations. Business as usual should be the town motto. When the town was flush during the Carolina Freight heyday I am sure that town officials were living high on the hog.
Too bad the FBI and SBI did not go back further to see where the money was going then.
But once the town started losing revenue base missing funds became more evident.
By the way what happened to our street sweeper? I have not seen it in months. Not enough money to run it maybe? Money that buys things like a half million dollar collectible Corvette like in Woody's driveway? Or is squandered in a questionable building deal for Tim Moss and crew? It is time to elect honest people into positions and maybe move a couple FBI agents here permanent like. Know what I mean?
What difference does it make what anyone has? I have seen people with gold teeth, but never did ponder where they got them. I would hate for an FBI agent to follow them around to find out how and where they got them! Sounds like you are a bit jealous.

So because I imply that taxpayers in Cherryville are being ripped off by their government you say I am jealous of these thieves? As far as questioning how our old Chief of police can afford a half million dollar collectible automobile on the salary of a chief of police is very valid. My point is how can they afford such things? Maybe by telling corrupt city employees to cut unlawful checks on the taxpayers dime. That is how. So why do you not want FBI agents to follow the money? Have something to hide?

Lot's of heated comments on this subject. Ok.... So the "Don't say a damn thing to the media" leaders in this sorry excuse for a town purchased this old building at whopping rip-off price. Does this surprise anybody? Who bought it.....WE DID!! What do we do with it? I say open the biggest consignment shop in the history of time. Competition with the rest of our ""uptown" is a good thing. For God's sake.....the only thing holding up our ""uptown" is pigeon droppings. And for all of you who would wish me to "Love it or leave it".... I am working on that now.
You must not like everyone in this town! Why would you say, "Open the biggest consignment shop". Cherryville, NC already has some, I thought. As for pigeon droppings, the pigeon's have to "poop" on our town just like "some individuals" have. Nobody sees them packing up and leaving because they don't like something someone does. So what, if someone bought the building. Why put down anyone for buying the building? Jealous? Did you want it for something?

You imply that tax payers are being ripped off by these people. OK, how long has this been going on? How long have you known about all those that have done Cherryville, NC citizens wrong? How long before anything came out in the press, did you know about the old police chief having collectible automobiles? If you knew all this, why didn't you come forward years ago before all the money was stole? Those individuals that have done us wrong will pay dearly. As for someone having something to hide per your comment, I hardly think you are on the same level. Point is, you keep on and on and on and on about the corruption. As far as anyone being able to afford anything isn't my business and yes, like you I have driven by multi-million dollar mansions and I have asked myself, "Wow, how does anyone afford something like that?" But then, what business is it of mine?

You implied that the taxpayers in Cherryville, NC were being ripped off by their government. NO, not buy their government; only a few that stole from Cherryville's citizens. Hardly the whole government, as you said.

I am of course talking about what has been learned after the investigations by the FBI and SBI conducted their investigations. Because if I knew about these things years ago I certainly have reported... Duh. AND no I have no reason to hide. Your comments are obviously stated to just to stir the pot. Get a life. Any intelligent person can see through your agenda.

What has been "learned" after the investigation? Intelligent? Now who is stirring the pot? You are a good one to call someone down on their intelligence. We all know what the FBI and SBI have "charged" these individuals with, so why keep on and on and on? lol

Speak of comments, yours are always ethical? You want to go back when Carolina Freight was here, saying things about the FBI back then and all the crooks. Well, I have no clue as to how many "all" would be! Agenda.....looks like you are doing a very good job of stirring the pot!!

As for A police chief buying a half a million dollar car ($500,000.00); I hardly believe he would pay that much, even if he had access to the funds. Are you exaggerating?

You are on topic when you say, "Open a consignment shop"? Bah! Point is, the building was sold to you know who. Since that sale, you have been rambling on about it and there is nothing you can do about it now or anyone else. In time, I am sure the building will come to life again. In the meantime, we will just have to wait like we have waited for other things to change. The whole point is that the building was bought at such a loss; your statement. I have no clue as to why they bought it, but I do understand why they sold it and took a loss. The tax value on that building was being paid for by the citizens of our town. I hardly think that you would want to pay higher taxes on it. Off topic, our real estate taxes are soon going up and with that building out of the way, they can use the funds somewhere else, I think. Maybe I am wrong though, they might just give the funds back to our community? Maybe those that bought the building might have a lottery and the winner might be you!

Gee thanks, and may I add, you are way off Topic. Speaking of someone with true intellect, those are abbreviations to my name. Cat got your tongue? Are you going to fault someone for a name that was given to them, just like you fault and put down Cherryville? Hey, and I like you too!

A Newman, you seem to think it is alright for you to get off topic; you know so much about what goes on at City Hall; the Cherryville Chamber of Commerce and more.....I was just thinking that you ought to run for all of them since you are so intelligent and you know so much about everyone and everyone's business and how much they pay for an automobile!
