Husband charged with shooting, killing wife at Lincoln County home.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said a man is in custody, charged with First Degree Murder.

Deputies said the man shot and killed his wife Saturday afternoon at their home on Rosehill Drive.

Investigators said Terry Lee White, 54, called 911 at about 12:30 p.m. saying he shot his wife, and threatening to kill himself.

Deputies said White was still armed when they arrived at the home. He dropped his weapon, but officers said they had to use a taser to get White under control.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said Ruby Elizabeth White, 39, was found shot in the head inside the home.

Terry White is in the Crouse Detention Center, being held without bond.

The investigation is ongoing.

A Lincoln County man is charged with first-degree murder after his wife was found shot to death at their residence west of Lincolnton.

Terry Lee White, 54, of 1243 Rose Hill Drive, Lincolnton, called 911 at 12:30 p.m. Saturday and told dispatch he had shot his wife and was threatening to take his own life.

The first deputies arriving on the scene encountered White, who was still armed. He dropped the weapon but resisted the officers who had to use a Taser to bring White under control and take him into custody.

He is accused of shooting his wife, Ruby Elizabeth White, 39, of 1243 Rose Hill Drive, Lincolnton, in the head with a shotgun.

Terry White was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center without bond.

Investigation into the incident is continuing. Responding along with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office were the Lincoln County EMS and Crouse Fire Department.

It was the first homicide in Lincoln County in 2013.
