So Mike Allred is off Scott free? I bet not. I am positive that he at least knew what was going on if not being involved. I am sure also that Woody turned on Mike and Mike will be indicted soon.

It's amazing how one small town can be so corrupt. You can bet there's more to this story. I guess it explains why so many Cherryville police spend their time at the Great Outdoors.

What all who comment here need is a sense of justice. What do these evil-doers have in store for them? Why aren't these people properly arrested before the media? Do they have nothing to fear? No, they don't....time heals all wounds. Our mayor made a comment years ago that this town has as "short memory". The former police involved in the FBI sting will go home with time served, and their accomplices will get probation. Bonnie A. won't serve any because this is a first offense, and neither will Jennifer Hoyle. Our mayor needed to resign back when this stuff hit the fan, but he is still there. But it's going to be fine.....the Blackburn boys will fix it all soon. Who is stealing from us now? It's clear those in power in this town know they can do what they want, when they want, and can feel confident of any legal punishment from our legal system. Bonnie still rides around in her new Volvo, and Woody still has his sweet Corvette, and both will keep them

Good Ole Boy, entrenched, we have always done it that way frame of mind. Those in power hang on with clenched fingers, knuckles turning white.

Girt Fisher was replaced a couple of years ago. I remember that on occasion rumors flew about city trucks were seen at her house often to clean gutters and pick up sticks etc much more quickly then the rest of the town. Since her end of term with the city council this special attention stopped pretty quickly.

The point is if you are part of the "Town Elite" you are much more equal then the rest of the citizens of Cherryville.

Our Chamber of Commerce is a joke, our city council ineffective and our Mayor is a buffoon.

But, I refuse to give up. I still believe that through democratic process we can root our the "We have always done it that way" attitude and decrease the likelihood of corrupt behavior to continue of start in the cities leadership.

I feel the jury is out on Mr. Blackburn and the new Chief of police. I suspect Mr. Blackburn of being a Back room type but see no evidence of it yet. The Chief seems to be a good guy but again it will take a lot to prove to me, average Joe Citizen, that you are.

I hope this is the beginning of the end of the corrupt behind closed door attitude of the leaders of our community.

Time will tell and I think the FBI and SBI are not finished with their investigations with in our city.

Also Woody's plea deal clearly shows a direct link between a corrupt police department and a corrupt city hall. How far does the corruption reach? Is the question we should be asking.

It's sad for all families of the guilty. Not just the Cops who should be upholding the law. In God only do I trust.

Hey White Pines, Gastonia, NC; White Pines was Cherryville and this is our problem because these people embezzled and stole our money and we as citizens of Cherryville are the town and we do pay our officials dearly! What planet did you come from anyway? If someone stole from you, would you say, "just chill and this is their problem"? As for running anyone in the ground, there isn't a post that says anything about running anyone into the ground. These individuals have freedom of speech, just like you saying, "lets just move on and let them deal with it". Yes, we are sorry for the families and they DO have to reside in this town and those are the ones that suffer the most and have suffered if they knew what was going on in the first place.
