City Lunch has a higher sanitation rating then other restaurants in Lincolnton. Yes I don't care for the out of state people either. They really have no business here. Drugs, trash etc! Many of them end up in jail and return to yankee land.

Honestly, I thought I was the only one who thought of lincolnton like that. Guess not. I catch so much shit for talking about lincolnton it's not even funny. A wave is foreign. Be friendly is out the door. There is a dark cloudthat hangs over this place. Lincolnton is one of those make u or break u cities. Unfortunately, lincolnton breaks many folks. I don't want to be the one. I noticed sense I moved here my thinking has become negative. That's not the person I am. I learned your environment has a dramatic impact on who you are as a person. The messed up part is lincolnton is a great town with cheap rates, but the people here are mentally deranged at best. You can't talk to them. They don't call it lincolnton wolves for nothing. This town sucks. Another year and I'm out. Sooner than that if I find a new job. Leave lincolnton in my past. I will never come back. I wouldn't be surprised if a tornado tears this place down one day.

It amazes me that people hate this town yet they want to talk about it all the time. If you dont like City Lunch dont eat there. If you dont like Ltown stay away....it shouldnt be that hard.

City Lunch has been our favorite place for breakfast since moving to Lincolnton over seven years ago from Lake Wylie. The standard question we always get is "Why on Earth would you move here from the lake?" My husband's reply: "Menopause. She had the itch to move. I've learned not to argue with raging hormones." My response is always: "...because Lincolnton is small-town America. No pretension. Look at it....an actual courthouse square. People say hello in passing, kids hold doors for you, folks say please and thank-you. Who wouldn't want to live in a community like this?"
City Lunch represents ALL of the above. Brian and Lorna welcomed us newbies seven years ago as if we'd been eating there since high school. No matter how packed the place is Lorna always asks how we're doing when she's taking our order. Heck, she even knows WHAT we order, how it's cooked, and whether we want grits or toast! Brian ALWAYS says "Hi guys" from behind the counter.
Watching their interaction with customers, overhearing pleasantries between them and patrons, enjoying the banter between friends and neighbors provides more ambiance than you'll ever find at a fast-food chain. Not to mention freshly cracked eggs, local sausage, and monster pancakes ...and all for a couple bucks a head.
I guess we've been experiencing the camaraderie and enjoying the home-cooked food too much to waste time searching the walls, windows or door for a posted restaurant grading.

No one cares about your hormones. Just give it time. Lincolnton will "grow" on you. You'll see it for what it is. Maybe the hype is still in your system making you delusional. Lincolnton is for those who refuse to change. Menopause got you. Your husband should have NEVER listened to you. You're going to regret it.
