Corrupt Police Sentences

Well, well........not much discussion here about this. How can people like this get off so easily. I may be wrong, but I'm sure that over recent years, left-wing lobbyist have made Federal Prisons much more comfy for their inmates than they were back in the 60's or 70's. I really liked the so called "apologies" to the judge. What a crock. Mrs. Alexander should be sentenced today. This will be fun to watch also. No need to get angry or frustrated about any of this....it is out of our hands, and it will happen again.......if it isn't going on now. Those people violated the most sacred trust between a town and it's leadership, and I'm sure we are not alone. The good news is we do not live in Charlotte. This town has been judged by outsiders because of the actions of very few people. We are a good little town and hopefully we will learn from all this.

The apathy here is astounding. Cherryvile has been mismanaged for the better part of 30 years. Look at the growth in the communites around it and then look as the lack of economic development in cherryville. How else do you expect to be perceived when the only thing ever heard about the town is the most egregious lack of lawfulness coming from city employes. Your literally paying people to steal from you. It is not a good town by any estimation, there are good people in it yes, but by any measure of success the town falls short in every relevant category.

Do not forget the credit for time served. Before very long we will see Frankie here on the streets again.

Now how about the Honorable Mr. Beam saying that seeing Bonnie walking around the streets of Cherryville was and I quote "A slap in the face" of our citizens. She gets to spend the next two years in federal prison. What she did was wrong. And if people treated her like crap while she was walking about town then I invite them to "throw the first stone".

I do not think it was a slap in the face. I think it was a woman that decided that she was not going to hide from the shame. And yes, there is a lot of shame attached to what she did and most importantly plead guilty to.

Back to the mayor's comment that we were within a month of fiscal ruin. Interesting that the citizens of Cherryville never get the details of that sort of thing. All the back room politics with out oversight is what allowed most of what has happened bad in this city. I do know that mine and my neighbors utility bills were through the roof when all this was going on. When do our utility bill overcharges get refunded? The city got the money back from insurance. Is the city using this now positive influx of money to line city coffers? Who is next to take "exotic vacations" Mr. Mayor? Time to open the books and make visible the goings on in our government I thinks.

I think all the corruption that this town faced and the corruption that was not discovered over the years is and underling theme to the town mindset. This little town rode the coattails of Carolina Freight for so long that it forgot how to live. It forgot that charity begins at the front door. It forgot that talking about your neighbors while your own dirty drawers fly up your flagpole for all the world to see is hypocrisy.

It is time to vote out the good ole boys and and to pick a mayor that has leadership beyond being student class president at Cherryville High.

It is time to invite corporations in with incentives and to give an opportunity to work to our educated populace. It is time to stop making Cherryville the slum rent district of the trailer scum that can afford the rental rates of a down trodden city.

And as a closing. If you think that all the investigations of the Feds and the SBI are finished just keep an I on the government vehicles that drive around town and park at the city hall from time to time. Bet that some of them are not Cherryvile Government owned.
