Where is the city responsible for fixing the sewer line? Is it from the edge of the drive way? That is City property. I have several plummers who say yes but one idiot at the city of Lincolnton says No. It's messed up all the way in the middle of the road. He doesn't make sense. If you can, will you please provide documentation from the city. Such as an ordinance or policy that states who is responsible. I was always told from the edge of the drive is the cities responsibility to the edge of the driveway is my responsibility.

For what it is worth, I have been told the state/city owns right-of-way 30 feet from the center of the road (either direction). The idiot that said no, is full of BS. Are there power polls along the roadway right-of-way in your area? If so, ask him who the "h" owns the land they are sitting on? According to him that is your property?? Haha, you own power polls (according to the idiot), so you ought to be getting paid for them being on your property :). That man and the City of Lincolnton probably don't want to mess with it because it is possible that nobody else is complaining about the problem. Maybe you can get help from your neighbors and find out if they are having a bit of a problem with their plumbing sewer line. I don't know. You know, in order for me to get an answer to a question/problem, I had to write a letter to the governor of North Carolina. I did get correspondence back from her (Bev Purdue), telling she forwarded my letter to the Department of Transportation (roadways), they (DOT) sent me a letter back stating the problem would be fixed by 2014; the problem was fixed before the year. Thank god! Maybe you might want to go this route; shoot, they can't kill you and eat you....so you're not hurting anyone and just maybe they will get off their a** and do something. Don't write a letter to the City of Lincolnton because it will end up in the trash. Google address for the governor of NC, write letter to him, keep a copy for your records. Also, tell him exactly what you have written on this blog and keep a copy for yourself. It might take a couple of weeks to get a response, but I am sure you will and just maybe he will forward your letter to the City of Lincolnton and THIS WAY, they will have to do something about the problem. The governor will know too! GOOD LUCK!

election year, call one of the candidates running, usually will be a sure fix if you say you are writing a letter to the editor in the local paper to repeat what the answer will be to your question here. lol

Write a letter to the editor? That would be good and everyone would know your business too!

I'll see how it turns out. If nothing else, I may get a lawyer and write a letter and title it "Liar and a Fraud" with the guys name to go there. I've done my part.

Don't let them run all over you; stand up for yourself AND YOUR property. I really don't think you need a lawyer now. Try writing the letters first and see what happens, unless you are in a hurry; I imagine you are.

I get their point! Let everyone read that you have this problem with the city. Who knows how many others would call the candidates themselves to help out on it.
I feel it is our business now that it is brought to our attention on this forum.( Kate must not have seen the LOL at the end)

Point is, you have to sign your name to send a letter to the editor. Thus, everyone would know who you are and know where you live making your address public to everyone. Yes, maybe it and everything else is your business as you say, but some don't want their business spread all over the internet as you seem to think. So, I am going to close for now until some other really intelligent person has something wise to say.

I was making a comment about someone saying to write a letter to the editor.....not anyone running for city council, mayor, etc. Either couldn't do anything about the matter anyway. I was only trying to point her in a direction, that I felt SOMEONE could help her.
