We here in the Atchison KS community welcome aboard Mr. & Mrs Cocking to the Atchison Community as he has been hired on as our new City Manager effective mid October. It appears we have hired on a fine ambitious young gentleman to help steer the course of our fine community.

I think that very few people that know what is happening in city government (understanding an actual budget) will tell you that Trey did a horrible job. I think he moved Cherryvale from the 1920's into the 2000's in just a few years. Our city was in dire need of some updating and it didn't come with family politics. He invested in this community, was involved with things in Cherryvale. We may not agree with everything he did, but he at least tried different things. By the way...Trey was not terminated early. You have been misinformed.

Boy are you guys right about him leaving, not soon enough. But we also need to make changes with some of the others. Also there needs to a complete audit taken since Trey is gone. Where has all the money gone from the water fund. Someone needs to explain why there is 96,000 dollars lost last year, Wheres the money?

I thought Trey did a great job with what he had to work with. While he may not have been perfect, he did his best to work for the community. For those who are wondering about missing money, the city is audited every year and those results, just like the budget, are not hidden from anyone. The people who complain the most are the ones who never try to make a difference in the community. Cherryvale has long been run by family politics and bullying, and Trey was taking steps to change that. I applaud Trey for moving on to better opportunities. Working for Cherryvale is almost a lose-lose situation...either you don't do enough, or you try to do too much. Until we start to learn to work together,stay positive, and accept change, this town will never grow.

I would like to let the people know that Trey Cocking is a liar,and back stabber. He will get your city sued, and will not deal with confrontation. He is worthless in my book and in over half of the citizens of cherryvale. Ask the former employees he ran off when he took over. The Police Department was in process of building them selfs up and he crushed it with lies. Then the best Police officer we ever had that actually helped out with the drug problem and worked for his community, Trey lied to him and ran him off to Oklahoma I think. The Police Department now is a joke and the joke is on them. The city of Cherryvale needs to get with the program. Well anyway Hope your community has fun with Mr. Cocking messing up everything he can. I look forward to seeing the news it will bring.
