Congratulations to the Cherryvale High School women's basketball team for advancing to the class 3A state tournament. The Lady Chargers defeated Frontenac, 59-50, in thrilling fashion in the 3A sub-state finale Saturday night in Cherokee.

By the way, the refs were the pits. Double bonus for both teams in the early minutes of the second period. Game took forever to finish because of the volume of the fouls on both teams.
