Have you heard of the new way to trick folks with caller ID to answer calls they would not normally answer? It is called Caller I.D. Spoofing. This is a service that allows you to change what is displayed on someones caller I.D. when they call you. Anyone can do this for a nominal charge. This happened to me here in Thayer, KS the other day. The number came up as a Thayer local number with the 839 prefix - so I answered the phone. It was one of those satellite companies recorded messages trying to get me to change companies. I tried calling the number back but got a message stating that the call could not be completed. I didn't think we would have a problem with this in such a small comunity, but I was wrong.
