Guns Still Held Hostage

I was on vacation Christmas 2005. My sons girlfriend was watching my house. My son came and started a fight. I called the police from Cincinnati and asked them to remove my son, since I was not there. They came and trashed my house cut the locks on my gun cabinets and took my collection of valuable antique guns. The county attorney dropped the charges and said I could have them back if my son went to the army. He did not qualify. They still will not give back my guns, they are all in my name, I have receipts for ALL. They say they are teaching me a lesson to stay away from my son (he is 21). A laywer I consulted asked me which I liked better, my son or my guns? and to keep my mouth shut. This does not seem right and I need help. I have never been arrested or in trouble with the law. I own a victorian home I restored and have lived in Cherryvale since 2001. Any advice? I feel like my rights have been taken away and I wonder where my guns are now. I spent 20 years collecting them and they were stolen away in a night.

Just go to small claims court and file a suit to have your guns returned or for the county to pay you relacement cost. It is common in for the police to keep what they like(booty) they are like pirates.

WHAT???? Where were the weapons stored, at Cherryvale PD or at the CA's office? What officers made the scene?? Did you get them back or not? I am aware of what was stored at Cherryvale PD as of June of 2007.

By the way, the, "Keep your mouth shut" comment, as the counselor told you to do, was to keep you from having phone traps, death threats, strange firings from work, etc, etc. from happening to you as they happen to others who do the right thing in this area.

I am not surprised at all, and believe you totally. I am sickened, but not surprised.
