so which teacher's kid is being made the star this year? just get used to it....canjo will never change... you can tell who is going to be the favorite in middle school, so if your kid isn't getting play time then...just give it up (unless theres a family tragedy that can be exploited and the AD and his gang can relieve their guilty consciences and let the poor traumatized kid be one of the chosen few...but only if the kid doesn't show their kid up.... Don't worry, all of the selected "stars" of years gone by will be back in the system as the next generation of teachers who will continue the tradition with their children...

. So either you or your kid were pretty bad at football & had to sit the bench, huh? At least you have someone to blame... Good for you!

It IS a popularity contest, for sure. Some kids suck but they get paid because the parents are suck asses.

This issue is prevalent in all towns and cities. People forget that sports at this level are to teach kids the game--and the best way to teach them is to let them play. "Helicopter " parents, as they're called, coach, volunteer, and do whatever they can to ensure that their child plays. It washes out in the end when the "big fish" leaves the little pond and is never heard of again--not too many of these "super athletes" are even on a college team!!

Can't believe the name Stahler comes up!!! Here's a perpetual wanna be parent!! He played sports for years, claiming to be 20 years younger than he was --just trying to relive his uneventful youth!! Even dated younger girls up into his 40's and 50's to give himself a youthful appearance...how sad!!!

Not sure why you felt the need to bring his name up. They have two really great kids... Smart, athletic, & doing well in college. Stick to the topic if you feel so inclined to comment on it.

Prediction- And that would be a bad thing? A
young man who excelled academically in both high
school and college, was a good athlete in high
school and is playing college basketball, life
guards in the summer at Glimmerglass State park,
and is a polite and respectful person; I guess
that's the last kind of person you would want
teaching the children of Canajoharie. Canajo-
harie should be so lucky!

At least last year when all the crap was happening we were good and winning, this year both teams have been beat and we are only 3 games in. Cant wait until my boys age out of this program so he doesnt and I don't have to put up with the crap!!!! Hope that modified and highschool teams grow some integrity or this will suck for years to come!!

how about when the coaches kids get to play in first grade. Their parents pick their jersey numbers and the children that follow the rules get the left overs. And then they stand and take pictures with their phones without other parent permission of the other players, don't they know privacy rights of all players. As we know you can't complain or your child will be talked about.

Is it really about the jersey numbers? Is there a special number that your underprivileged child wanted and didn't get? Maybe you (the parent in the background) should have asked the parent volunteers for a specific jersey. From what makes the most sense of course.....the Jerseys were assigned FIRST according to seniority (makes sense to the sensible right?) SECOND according to size (another decision that mades sense to the sensible right?) THIRD honoring requests by parents that may have a preference....Hmmmm Leftovers, didn't know that any ORANGE jersey was just a leftover (how insulting to the orange team is it to know that a parent thinks of an ORANGE jersey as a leftover). My son would be proud to wear ANY ORANGE jersey. Oh...regarding the comment that was made about parents using their cell phones: The funny thing is....the picture taking parents were probably focusing on their own children Right?? Oh and another thing, it would be interesting to see the written "Privacy Right" that restricts parents from taking pictures of their children. One more comment....if you are assuming that your child is being talked about then you should most definitely assume that you are "that parent" that is being talked about.:)

Seen it all, how in the hell do you know what goes on at a football practice in Canajoharie, NY when you are in Ashburn, VA???(HaHa) You should come down to our town and start a flag program so that the 1st graders would have something to do and not practice with the 3rd n 4th graders. I didn't know what topix was until tonight at the youth football game.

Regarding Parental permission from the player's parents and privacy rights for parents who take pictures:
HISTORY 101: The first amendment: Freedom of the press
The Law is clear!
This is a public event there is no expectation of privacy (they can even be posted on the internet!) that means, NO WORRIES parents, take all of the pictures that you want, you can even take some pictures of the parents and the crowd of fans...you are safe thanks to the 1st Amendment ;)
So my words of wisdom to you: before you try to intimidate with ignorant statements, do just 60 seconds of research in you brain like maybe as far back as the 3rd grade level and try to remember HISTORY 101 The US Constitution...the very 1st Amendment...wow i can certainly think of a more fitting word other than ignorant but we will leave it at that!!

There is always someone that always has so much negativity that they live to take the time to degrade a youth organization!!! This organization was creAted many years ago to give the youth of our community a chance to play football!! Our coaches devote countless hours to this organization and if they want their child to practice (yes I said practice because they can't play in games). Then rightfully so!! As far as jerseys numbers - really you have nothing better to do then to sit back and knock kids or coaches or other parents over a jersey!! Get a grip on reality!! If that is what you are teaching your children then I feel sorry for them. There is so much bitter because parents make it that way!! It's not about an individual it's about a team. Not the qb or the rb or the linebacker it's about playing as a team ( losing and winning)!! Parents forget that this day and age and they pass those same morals down to their children!!! Do yourself a favor - think of the important things in life - your child's healthy enough to play!' A lot if kids and parents out there that would live to see their child a part of a team but they are to sick to play!!! We as individuals feel everything is unfair!! Life isn't fair and your child and my child will learn it and become awesome individuals as long as their parents do g get in the way!!!
