Horseshoe Bend has plenty of trailers at fair price. Land lords getting screwed by crappy renters so decent people like myself have hard time getting good deal.

hey Sam I am! I've been reading your posts about the village... Is it really that bad a place? I'm not having a go, just real curious?! I bought a plot near lake Aztec a couple years ago. But we're in the uk and not done anything with it yet. Waiting till the time is right....... Or maybe sell the building plot again :/

Cherokee Village is not a bad place at all, But it does depend on what you like to do.
About the best thing you can do is take a vacation here for a month or so and check it out for yourself. Don't pay any attention to these people leaving their little negative judge points and talking all their little negative things about Cherokee Village, Most of them don't live here anyway and are just jealous of us that do.

All one needs to do is, go to the Sharp Co. Court House in Ash Flat AR. and review the foreclosure list.
Lots of great deals to be found, without the hassle or HIGH fees of the area Real Estate Agents.
"majority of homes in Cherokee Village have been or will be foreclosed on" Far from the majority, And I'm sure you know that. But you are right there are some like anyplace else. and what you say may be worth checking into.

So why are so many properties going through foreclosure? Is there not a lot of jobs/work in cherokee area? Looking at the cherokee village website is looks like its a place to come and retire a go boating at the week ends... Im just trying to get a real idea of what this place is like....

I don't know why there is so much foreclosure going on. It's not that it's a bad place to live. We have been here a good number of years and love the place and the area. Us and friends down the street went for a walk at Grand Gulf State Park yesterday, Really beautiful with all the Fall colors. But with the foreclosures going on there may not be as many as you think or as many as some haters want you to believe. You need to rent a place for a month or so and check it out for yourself. I can tell you this for sure, Right now is good time to buy.
Happy house hunting.

<quoted text>OKAY, lets just cut through all the bull$hit here. There is no work and no jobs in the Cherokee Village area, PERIOD.
You want a real idea of what Cherokee Village is like? Go and take a ride up Skyline Drive in Cherokee Village. Ride through all of those streets up in that area. Tomahawk, Hiawatha, Sequoia, Pontiac, etc. etc..... Yeah, thats the real Cherokee Village.
Poverty, HIGH CRIME, drug and alcohol abuse, welfare, food stamps, H.U.D. funded scum, child abuse, meth labs and thats just naming a few. Cherokee Village isn't the nice little bed of roses you think it is. It's not all peaches and cream homes around the lake. The real deal and population is what you see up in the Skyline Drive area.

If you don't obey the S.I.D. rules and obey the poorly run, ignorant and inexperienced Government of Cherokee Village, that operates out of the ABANDONED Village Center. You will be fined and harassed to no end. You will be tormented to the point of moving. This is why you see so many homes for sale in Cherokee Village. The Cherokee Village Government makes residents hate it. It's ashame and there is no need for it. Cherokee Village needs, educated and brilliant minds with experience to step in and take over.
Otherwise, it will stay in the nose dive it is in, and crash to the point of no return.
After you take you're ride on Tomahawk, Hiawatha, Sequoia skyline Pontiac, etc. Take a ride around Lake Thunder Bird, Lake Omaha and have a look at the half million $ plus homes that's the real Cherokee Village.

"lets just cut through all the bull$hit here. There is no work and no jobs in the area"

This is a retirement area, Most are not looking for jobs. And for those that are looking for jobs, there are jobs here and you know it.
