Cherokee Tribal Police are Federal, and the FBI has to charge all felonies. Their new drug task force may have more authority or work closer with the FBI.

Should've come to Haywood County... had a guy arrested with nearly 100 pounds of marijuana, money, supplies, etc., and got no prison time whatsoever because he gave the name of a supplier who also will serve no prison time! 100 POUNDS AND NO TIME!!!!! Sorry excuse for a judge... everyone was shocked including the cops who arrested him.

It's a shame that as hard as these officers work, developing the case, then arresting the suspects, to have these druggies just waltz out of court, smirking at the officers. It's no wonder the good officers find another line of work, because most of the judges appear not to be on the side of the good guys.

I agree -It's like the courts and judges, etc. make
a laughing stock out of our officers, the ones who risk their lives and spend lots of time away from
their families. What's happened to our justice system? And to think there are so many children in
these situations and should not be there.

Merry CHRISTMAS to all of you - Please don't take
CHRIST out of it!!

Maybe it will tell the people that gamble at Harrah's to stop. A true waste of money.

Actually Sweetpea, its really not your business anymore. It stopped being your business and your money when you put your money in the machine. This really isnt about per capita money. Its about a drug bust.

I have been told by residents of the Reservation that the day the per-capita checks come out, the drug dealers crawl out from under their rocks, looking to sell to anyone who'll buy. Sounds like this bust was just in time. These dudes were apparently revving up to peddle their goods to the tribal members who would, and now could, buy. By the way, don't resent any money the Cherokee get from the Casino. In the opinion of this Choctaw Indian, they've earned it after eons of living in abject poverty.

It's because the "good guys" don't have the money that the "bad guys" have to pay off those judges! Sad, but true!
