Wow, Citizen Blogger, that's the nicest post I've seen you make. Kudos.

I too am thrilled about this event bringing the 2 Cherokee nations together. My great, great, great grandfather was driven out of these beautiful hills on the Trail of Tears to Oklahoma.

I think that too often the Cherokee and other Native Americans are overlooked because other minorities are so much more vocal. What happened to our ancestors was more than tragic.

i am ashamed of my white heritage for what my ancestors knowingly did to the native americans, the african americans and anyone else that looked different. i just returned from cherokee this weekend and wished there was something i could do to give back for the mistakes of my ancestors. thank you all for the beautiful weekend. (and the boiled peanuts were the bomb)

Get over the white guilt crap thing. The Cherokee nation has their own rules and laws. They are a sovereign nation. They receive a per capita check and also have free medical care.

When you look at guilt, think of yourself, are you of European decent ? Now the question would be are you from a displaced population of Europe, i.e. forced to get on the boat to avoid being hanged by the rulers of your country. did your people fight invaders over the centuries, this includes Moslem's and Asians, only to be in the end to be dispossessed of your lands in the end.

The East band and the Western band re-uniting that's old news. Now taking that that they practice nationalism. Don't you think you should practice Nationalism yourself.

Get over the White guilt thing, it makes you a slave. Clouds your mind. Learn to be free.

Look familiar
Watch all five.

another one. http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Now do you feel guilty for a past or are being enslaved with your own mid for the present or the future.

I'd like some help here. How do I go about getting on the roll books there? Someone told me on facebook that you can go to Cherokee, have blood drawn and through your DNA they can determine your Cherokee perecentage that way. Is this true, and if so can someone please tell me how to go about taking care of all of this? I sincerely appreciate it. I know that my Great Grandfather was Cherokee. I never met him as he passed away when my Father was only 4. Again thanks for any help you can give me.
