How desperate people are getting for drugs and/or $ to get them!! I hope the child gets placed in a loving home & receives the help he or she will need to start recovering from this. Children are truly a gift from God & I would hate to stand before him & explain what they did! In the meanwhile, I hope they never see the light of day!!

I wish deputies would just shoot this type of trash when they catch them. Charge their families for the bullets.

""...Nearly 80 charges were filed against Teddy Lee Wilson, 35, Alice Driver Wilson, 25, and Higinio Macedo, 18, for felony child abuse. The three are from Cherokee....""

I think I met Wilson and his wife a few years ago - wierd couple, but not people I would suspect of something this awful. I agree that no one involved should ever see the light of day again.

what is wrong with people? God gave us children to love and protect. This is not love or prtection. God have mercy on their souls.

The woman will never go to trial, that is how things happen with the tribe. The tribe doesn't care what one of thier own does. They protest them at any cost, does anyone not remember the baby they found several years back in the bag on the side of the road? The woman had 4 kids already, knew she was pregnant , yet didn't know what was happening. This case never saw the light of day. Cherokee Police and the tribe are the worst to cover things up and let them go. They make Medford look like an angel.

I am assuming they are the parents of this child.(it is hard to use the word parent in the same sentence with these two)I get so furious when I read about these cases I just want to see something horrible happen to this kind of creeps. My husband agrees with the idea above about the waste of tax dollars for a trial. he thinks the police should just shoot them too.I must have a devious mind because I think that would be too easy.I want to know they suffered !!I think I would like to see 'CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT' for all of the dirtbags who dare to lay a hand on a child. My oldest daughter has been married 22 years and even though I love my two grandkids with my heart and soul I still don't like to think about how they were 'invented'.A decent parent could never imagine that their child has eveer been with another person ,let alone selling them out. There would have to be a deeper place in hell for this kind. The current death penalty is way to easy for these creeps.

100% correct! One line in the horrible story says it all."Alice Driver Wilson is a tribal member, and the charges will be handled in Cherokee Tribal Court. We will never hear the outcome. The Tribe takes care of their own.

i agree that this is an example of the worst kind of people. but just a slight correction to boer mama -- the girl who left her baby in the bag on the side of the road served 8 months time in fed. prison. which is absolutely nothing compared to the crime she committed. she again lives in our community with her children and her family. in not only tribal affairs but all over the country, people who commit these crimes are not punished very severely. its something that needs to be changed!!

I can see that several of you know a lot more about the Tribal Councel than I do .Are you saying that the tribe will deal with it privately and we will never hear what punishment she receives, or do you mean that they will just sweep it under the rug? Surely they would look at this as harshly as our courts do .(at least I hope they do).

I don't know anything about Tribal Court but I sincerely hope members of the tribe will demand justice for this child. Maybe the Tribal Court will make an example out of the "mother".

You should check your facts. The woman in question did NOT have 4 kids. The case did go to court & she was sentenced and served time in prison.

My prayers go out to the child. This will be with the child for life, no matter what punishment the adults have. I hope the tribe handles this case well and banishes the mother from the tribe when found guilty. The mother should loose all privileges in being a member and citizen to society, as well as the other scumbags.

Bravo to the family member brave and caring enough to notify the authorities of this behavior.

EBCI remember it does "take a tribe to raise a child".

The tribal councel has been known to do both. We will just have to wait and see on this one.

Stuff like this just makes me sick. Gob Bless the Child or children and the ones who love them. Children tend to talk to friends about stuff before parents etc..So God Bless the kids carrying that burden.

Here we go again. The sad part is that this happens everywhere not just in Cherokee. But again that is how some of you want it to look like it only happens in Cherokee. Some of you need to get your facts straight before you start posting.

Well Most important while every one knows best, this child is now safe. She has committed a wrong, a terrible wrong against a child, her own child.

Instead of bickering, perhaps prayers are more needed for these children. For all the children.
