As quoted from April 16, 2008 Smithfield Times newspaper.. "Fired Surry deputy honored by Feds for Vick Investigation"
According to the newspaper article "Bill Brinkman was fired without explanation in December, 2007 from Surry Sheriff's Department."
"US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Chuck Rosenberg persented the award."
"Brickman's peers in the law enforcement community were complimentary of his work and his work ethics."
Something is wrong with this picture. I hope that Mr. Brickman finds employment where honesty, good work ethic and integrity means something to the people who employ him.
The injustice of removing this officer deserves national recognition.
The Mike Vick's case brought national recognition and this apparent lack of support for law
enforcement officers from their employers deserves the same. I hope someone does a story on this so everyone in the nation will know about this injustice.

i applaud bandit 1--he is so right--then consider the county, and the "so called" public officials, of the "just let it slide clyde" sheriff's dept--
someone with the power to set this corrupted county straight, should delve into the real reason why brinkman was fired--it's called injustice in a small town.

I've been in law enforcement for 34 years and counting; at the city, state, federal and military level. If an employee of mines were conducting an investigation in my county, with or without the Feds (which I am now) and not inform me (the Sheriff), he would be fired as soon as I found out (even during the investigation). Now, let the Feds hire him if he's so great. Oh, did you mention that he was not qualified to be hired by the same Feds that USED him and probaly advised him not to inform the Sheriff.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Aries

One of the family needs plenty of love and attention today, but the trouble is that you may not be able to spare the time. If so, you'll be consumed with guilt and self-reproach, and this may become so strong that it casts a blight over the day. So do what you can to let them know you're thinking about them, but resist the temptation to berate yourself over things you can't change.
