As I sat and pondering the good times we shared, the hard times we endured in the Lodge, yet I have mixed emotions. First, I pray that Michelle and the kids will ride God's grace through this time of sorrow. I know that God will see you through. My friend, my brother, my companion, my peer, has answered the highest call. Quick was a very humble man,and nothing came before his God, and his family. He always carried himself as a man of God! He was a brother that you could always depend on, despite the situation. He was dedicated to his family , job, church and fraternity. He will be missed very much by all who knew him. I had the honor of receiving the 33rd degree with this brother, but he has received the highest degree that one can receive, and it can only be bestowed upon one by God.Quick often would come by my mothers house to check on her and my grandmother. He came to the church that I pastor, to talk to the youth about drugs and crime, he always put somebody else concerns and desires before his, this was the kind of brother he was.
Quick had a beautiful spirit, and a big heart!!
Today I can say, that knowing quick has made me a better person. Our lodge will miss him dearly. I thank God for knowing him, I thank God for the life he lived before his family, friends and brothers, but most of all I thank God for the life
he lived before the Grand Master of the Universe!!
Quick we will miss you, but God has called you to the highest calling!! You have traveled that road from whence no travler returns! Your work is complete, good work, square work!! The brittle thread of life has been cut for our brother!! You have heard alot of good things from your family, friends, co-workers, and brothers, but nothing will ever compare to the words, you received on last night " Well done! Well done! thy good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord"
"That which we do for ourselves dies with us, but that which we do for others will live forever!!
Your Brother forever, Anthony Hooks
