If the medication is expired then great but disposing of medication that has not expired is stupid. It is the law I know but I also know how expensive it is to buy your medications cash.
One prescription, for me, costs 250 a month.
Just one and only a one month supply.

My mother-in-law had an elderly friend yrs ago who lived at the assisted living apts in Montgomery.
We used to go and check on her a few times a week.
One day we went to visit and noticed an open can of dog food sitting on the kitchen counter. Since she didn't have a dog we were curious. Turns out she bought a case of it at the dollar store because it was on sale. She had to choose between buying her meds or buying food.
The month before she had bought food and ended up in the hospital with CHF. So that month she got her meds and had to figure out a way to eat through the month.

It is pathetic for the greatest country in the world to have ill ppl choosing between much needed medication and much needed food.
So throwing out good medication that someone may need and not be able to afford is the height of foolishness.

Now the cops won't have to buy their drugs themselves. They have the pick of the take! It's like shooting fish in a barrel. Oh wait, they prefer shooting troublesome recidivists who are cuffed, instead. Oh well, they can't have everything.
