I feel that as an American citizen it is our right of freedom of speech. It is also our job to make sure that they are doing their job correctly. If the people of these VT towns feel that their leader has been doing things that are unjust then it is all our dudies as the American people to make things right for all of our citizens. Of course in other countries you would be killed of talking badly against their dictator. That is why people have been coming here for hundreds of years. I would also not be embaressed to tell people I was from VT. These citizens feel that their right as the AMERICAN PEOPLE are being deminished and they are speaking up for themselves. Maybe all of you would bennifit from their inspiration.

Freedom of speech is a great thing. Just as these morons can criticize Bush for trying to keep us safe, it allows me to say Screw Battleboro and their wimpy little town.

It is only natural that a town that allows nudity in public would bash Bush. He has the guts to protect your right to act stupid. Just wait until the guys with the hurt heads come to your town and blow you up then come crying to the government. Oh then that will be Bushe's fault too.

I, too, was born and raised in Vermont... and I, too, am embarrassed to tell people I am from Vermont because of crap like this and the civil union thing. Remember when Vermont used to be a respectable, conservative state? I joined the military and returned 20 years later to find we had turned into California's rural brother! |

You heard it here first (or maybe second): Everyone seems to have fun bashing the war in Iraq. They all want to bring our troops home now! Don't get me wrong. I would love nothing more than to have our troops come home. I have a couple friends in Iraq and I don't want them to be among future casualties.
But I am also a sensible American. It is better to have the battles OVER THERE than it is to have them OVER HERE. Make no mistakes about it, the only reason there wasn't a 10/11, 11/11, 12/11, etc. is because President George W. Bush did the difficult thing and declared war on Osama Bin Hidin', Sadam Insane, and all the other terrorist organizations. If we pull out now, terrorism will increase on American soil beyond anything we have ever known! Of course, the democrats will probably find a way to spin that against Bush, too... |

Thats what alot of Liberals dont realize. This never happened before and we are going off the top of our heads .There has never been a terror attack in AMerica, and we never delt with this to this magnitude and GWB is doing a hell of a job,and I can almost with 100% certainty say that no other person ( democrat) would do any better and prob. alot worse in this same situation.I hate this war and hate losing Americans, but we havent had attacks here either since this all started. Now we need to put politics aside and become independent from terrorist oil! Mass,( i heard on NECN on line) has past energy policies for Mass and that is a great step.I admit in conservative and will admit I care more for the enviroment more than any Liberal would admit to,and would love not to support Terrorist bu buying thier oil,and we must stop having the libs killing us from drilling oil to keep the prices high, killing the economy, to use it as a political point against Bushl. They would rather not drill in ALASKA ect and not be independeant and support fcoreign oil, keep prices high, give terrorists money, and accuse Bush for political points which to me is treason, anti American, and screwing American economy for political gain is just plain wrong! SAtop political garbage and lets get oil independance from the MIddle East and screw the terrorists!

Why is it that people who want to defend the constitution are considered unpatriotic?
Why is it that those who defend freedom of speech are being silenced? Why is it that those who need these protections the most vote and comment against their own best interest? Please take a closer look, open your mind, and see what is happening around you. Brattleboro is fine. We care, we think, we are generally awake. Your rights are being taken and you show them the way. Your government is stealing from you and you give them the keys to the bank. Soldiers are killing themselves and you give them the noose, Stop, now, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down Stop, children, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down |

What a waste of time and energy. Like the President or anyone else wants to go to this crappy little town anyway. You can also put my name because if for some reason I ever decide to go to the crappiest town in the United States I hope I'd get arrested. I'm not even pro-Bush, this is just ridiculous.

It seems clear to me that the people responding to this article are completely out of step with mainstream America.
I read thoughtless speaking points ("fight them there so we won't have to here", "Bush made a hard and brave call", "never has been another terrorist attack on America") and no original thoughts. The world stood with the United States after 9/11 and Bush and Co. have mishandled an opportunity of a lifetime to lead and have instead alienated allies and created enemies that previously did not exist. The United States of America is clearly disgusted with the arrogance, incompetence and complete disregard of the US Constitution that Bush and Cheney have displayed. The movement to arrest them may be symbolic in nature but you can be sure it should serve as a wake up call. Brattleboro should be very proud today. |

I wish I was from Vermont and could proudly say so! They act, where so many sheep-ple in this apathetic land do nothing.. just drive their Hummers to Mall-Wart and buy cigs and Brittany Spears T-shirts. What a proud land this could be if we all did our best and worked toward some progress.
bush and cheney have weakened USA and broken its spirit. |
