No way to get down a two way street if a car is coming in the opposite direction. Nowhere to pull over. You have to back up the entire length of the street to let another car pass. The main roads are OK but the side streets are horrible.

The problem I have is that today would have been a good day to widen side streets. Some side streets had no cars parked in them yet the plows did the middle now the street is 8 feet + narrower. Also big plows driving around on Sunday with blades up.

I witnessed a couple of small plows today widening side streets at the corners for easier turns. Nice, but they plowed the snow onto the sidewalk burying the opening. Now there is no access to the sidewalk on both sides. This is the kind of thing that makes people angry. There are many people in the city who are pedestrians and now have to walk in the middle of a busy street.

I have seen some bus stops filled in with mountains of snow from plowing. Now these bus riders have to stand in the street waiting for a bus. Who is responsible for the snow removal at bus stops the city or the MBTA?

What did you want them to do with the snow?

It IS near my house and now I CANNOT use the sidewalk which HAD BEEN shoveled because there is NO access thanks to the unthinking plow driver.

I guess you do not depend on walking to get around the city. If you did you would understand.

I thought that residents owning property in everett are required to shovel side walks in front of there property. I also thought that we had new side walk plows. When will our children be able to use the sidewalks that my taxes pay for.

Im in no way defending the plowing or the city's poor coordinating efforts but sitting behind a computer and complaining about it with 5 or more threads on the same issue accomplishes nothing. This is an election year, complain to your Aldermen and Councliors. Speak at the Public Participation time before each meeting on Monday nights and voice your concern. Offer ideas to help. I agree the plowing was lousy and it's been one heck of a week over it. I already wrote to my ward alderman and councilors about it and told them the coordination of this storm was so poor, because we have gone too long without a director. I've never seen the people that plowed my street before. One driver looked 18 years old and could care less. He went straight up the middle and our neighbors had to do the streets ourselves. That's not fair and not right.

We are taxpayers and paying these kids (who could care less) big bucks to do nothing. I have to blame the mayor for this mess because we don't have a City Service Director and I'm not blaming some fill-in person for it. The mayor needs to get his head out of his a ss and move away from Casino's for five minutes. I see his yard and street were all clear right after the storm and you wont see any of them braking their backs shoveling like we all did. Let your voice be heard so this fiasco never happens again....and this was NOT about "sidewalk plows" like the mayor is blaming the council in the papers.

There has been a lot of plowing going on. Mostly in city hall after hours.

I believe their is a city ordinance that the homeowner must shovel the sidewalk in front of their house or be subject to fines. As far as the new sidewalk snow plows go I don't know if we even have them yet. The administration was researching this and I don't know if they even ordered them.

City sidewalk plows: Saw them (two of them) working today as I was on my into Boston. They were on lower Broadway just before McDonald's. So the answer is yes, we do have them - they are bright yellow color.
