Everett To Recount Primary Votes

In the latest bout of an ongoing tussle for a State Senate seat that began in January, Democratic contender Timothy R. Flaherty has filed paperwork asking for a partial recount of votes cast in last Tuesday's primary.

Flaherty is a 4-time loser. A recount is a huge unnecessary expense to the city. With the type of machines we now have, it is unlikely to change the vote. Most recounts only have a minimal change in numbers. I don't however know what type of equipment is used in the other cities, but the number are not likely to change enough to make a difference.

Mr. Flaherty is doing a recount of ABSENTEE ballots only. Those have been very questionable. Why did Stat Smith vote absentee when he was all around the city that day campaigning? It's funny he wins on his absentee ballots. I know I cant just walk in and vote absentee because I feel like it! That is abusing the system and I know of other inequities that went on while voting that needs to be brought out. EVERY SINGLE ABSENTEE ballot MUST be accounted and checked and it will.

There was no recount at all...Flaherty cancelled it because he didnt have a leg to stand on...just sour grapes before he crawls back under the same rock he crawls under after all 4 of his hosses

He knows it's not going to change the outcome, that is not what I said and the FACT is the absentee ballots are corrupt and are going to change. So no more of having all your Somerville friends vote in Everett.

Breathe and calm down. Saying all these nasty things is not going to help anything. These same things were said before the election and he still won. Legally or not, and that's up to the courts to decide.
