All five Democratic party candidates for the 3rd Middlesex state senate seat will meet at an interactive public forum in Waltham, Massachusetts, to present their views and answer questions from the public. The event takes place Wednesday, July 18, 7–9 PM at the Arthur J. Clark Government Center, 119 School Street, Waltham, MA. The event, sponsored by the Progressive Democrats of Massachusetts, will explore the candidates' commitment to progressive values and policies and is open to the public. Updated information will be available at www.progressivedemsofmass.org .

The 3rd Middlesex district is large and diverse, containing Bedford, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Lexington Precincts 3, 8, and 9, Lincoln, Sudbury Precincts 1 and 4, Waltham, and Weston. Senator Susan Fargo, who is not running for reelection, has represented the district since 1997. Candidates Mike Barrett, Alex Buck, Mara Dolan, Joe Kearns Goodwin, and Joe Mullin are facing off in the September 6 Democratic primary.

Progressive Democrats of Massachusetts is a statewide network of grassroots activists organized to promote social justice, political reform, and progressive values throughout the Commonwealth. The organization focuses on local and state-level issues.
