Man shot dead on Kenmore

Monty Massimi, 44, was shot to death Tuesday night inside his car on Kenmore Avenue, Buffalo police said today. via Buffalo News

True BUT, 3 SUBURB shootings 2 dead in a week?? Apparently your not familiar with Kenmore. 2 Cops to every 1 person... I don't know where you are from but I grew up in Kenmore ALL MY LIFE and never heard of having drive by shootings!

It does'nt matter if it's 2 cops or 20 cops per person, if it's gonna go down, it's gonna go down. With crystal meth, crack and everything else in between spreading throughout every community nowaday's, violent crimes such as these will become more common place in sub-urban area's.These 'people', which transcends racial and ethnic boundarie's, will stop at nothing to get what they want.

The shooting was in North buffalo, not Kenmore, if you want to be technical about it. Right across from where I went to high school and it probably is one of the safest places on earth.

Yes, I am well aware of the fact it was N Buffalo, I don't think crossing the street makes a world of differance. I am 33 years old and lived mostly in Kenmore and now in N Buffalo, so I am not in need of your technicalities. Sorry to sound rude, but if your going to comment on this I would think you would put your thoughts more into the shooting than what side of the street it was on. The fact that it took place across from St Joe's and it being the safest place on earth is the point I am trying to bring out here.... THAT is why it's so messed up!

Hey guys, North Buffalo and Kenmore have both been declining neighborhoods and that restaraunt where the shooting happened has always been known for drugs! I was not surprised when I heard of the shooting or when I heard who it was. I was born and raised in Buffalo and it is a shame what has happened in the neighborhood. As far as what happened in West Seneca ---- totally random!

Wow, it's about time a comment on this topic that makes sense! Your so right about Kenmore and N Buffalo declining, and it's a shame!! You are also right about jacobi's! That pizza place is owned by sumbags! They are bigtime drug users/dealers. I worked there YEARS ago and they make it pretty obvious what they did. As for that West Seneca shooting totally random as was City of Tonawanda! Now I ask, what can we do about it? Also, why does the news keep it so hush hush around these parts???

I wish I knew why the cops don't do anything about that rest. on Kenmore. The other one on Abbott Rd. was just raided last year for drugs. I have been in the rest. when it was on Englewood and they abosolutely do not hide that they are dealing right out of the back room. I wouldn't doubt it if they were part of the set up of the shooting!We can't do a damn thing about it. Our justice system stinks. We are arresting father's who tried to reprimand a 10 year old unsupervised child ont he ice at the Pepsi Center before he hurt someone but we keep these scumbags in business and alow them to front thier drug business in a pizzeria. I wish they would do something about this. Any cops on this page that might want to clue us in on why these guys get away with this for year?

As a officer of the law and public servant, i think i'll field the question on why drug dealing goe's unnoticed. I deal with these "Tuffs" on a regular basis and believe me it's no cakewalk. From drug dealers returning looong overdue books to running in the halls, this is one security guard that has seen it all.It's one simple answer, street payoffs. If you sling drugs and happen to be making enough money in the game, you can pay the cops to look the other way, or maybe they have relatives or close friends as officer's and they inform them of upcoming raids. There are "Trap" houses in Buffalo that has been dealing drugs for close to 25 years that have never been busted. And i should know...it's where i buy my weed.

I wish I could help your family. I am sure you are grief stricken. I knew from the moment I got the phone call about the shooting that he must have been set up. I was very happy to know that Monty had a baby and a fiance and I hoped he was living a good and happy life with them. He had a BIG heart and the most wonderful smile. I hope they shut that place down! My love to your family. It has been years since I have seen you all and about 5-6 since I saw Monty. If I hear anything I would certainly do the right thing.

First of all this had nothing to do with drugs...It was a murder hit..Monty had no drugs on him, he was set up by these scumbags for protecting another person..Anyone that knew Monty knows how he would protect the little guy..These people are dirtbags and cocaine users..There are alot of lives in jeopardy
right now so if any one out there saw anything please inform the DA'S office or the Detectives..We have other family members to worry about because these people have threatened another hit...

No offense intended toward your family. My message to "the littlest" was in response to the message about "the underground crime ring" and the poking fun at that. Apparently, drugs and crime are acceptable to this person despite how it rips apart neighborhoods, children and families. So, my comment was to point out the stupidity in that comment. I apologize if it offended you but ask you to understand that this blog has turned into two issues. It began about the issue of what goes on in that pizzeria/bar and the decline of the neighborhoods and evolved deeper into the subject of the Murder, both which are Crimes. Unfortunately, the association is there. I hope the murderers are found and brought to justice.

I was not offended..Crime is crime..The drugs are ruining are neighborhoods and we need to get these guns off the street..I don't care what goes on in Jacobi's..My concern is the murder. Did you know that the massacre at VT could have been prevented? Virginia's gun laws are very lax..If they would have had a waiting period and investigated this kid they would have found out that he was mentally ill..That had nothing to do with drugs. Not all crimes are drug related...As far as I'm concerned, what happened to Monty should never have happened. He was not a drug dealer or user. That's what I understand. Our neighborhoods are under attack. Drugs and guns are killing our youth. Very sad..If anyone has any information please come forward with it. Maybe it will stop an all out blood bath.
