President Obama couldn't have changed anything. Mainers believe marriage is between a man and a woman.
Children deserve to be brought up in the time honored manner with a mother and father. What they learn from their parents will influence their thinking for the rest of their lives.
What future does a boy or a girl have believing only in same sex marriages? What future does this leave for society?

I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman not same sex. I think more people believe in that than what voted. I couldn't vote I had no way of getting there to vote. And I know plenty more that couldn't get there either for one reason or another and all of them would have voted yes. I think if this comes again we will just have to make sure that everyone votes next time around. I am just glad that it is the same. Just wish the marijauna vote didn't pass. College students are now planning ways and looking into how California does things with that law and they have figured out plenty of ways to be able to get and use marijauna legally without really having a medical problem. The ruling should have stated, Cancer only or something to that effect. That is just my opinion.

I am one of an even smaller minority of gays who are mostly happy with the current laws regarding civil union in maine. i fully understand the feeling on both sides of this issue. there are some things regarding health care and death benefits that need to be changed/updated but for the most part we are afforded the same rights as married couples. i think that the zealots on both sides of this issue would be better served finding ways to work together on important issues which affect us all. this marriage debate is way too political and serves no helpful purpose except to flame the fires of separatism that we should be working to quell. the words marriage/civil union are not so important as the ability of all to raise safe healthy families.

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Taurus

Although the influences around now tend to give you endurance and stamina, you do have to watch that you're not straining your body too much, or trying to force yourself to do things that you don't want to do. Too much willpower can sometimes make you push yourself past your limits. You may be overspending to compensate, because you feel that you deserve a little reward for all your hard work. However, you'll have to pay the piper sooner or later!
