i know theres some employees that work for n/s that can answer this.
what does it take to actually get a job with n/s ?
i have work experence that actually would over qualify me, i have been too three hiring sessions and three interviews. all sounded good , then i get the dreaded email your not chosen. is it an age factor ? is it the fact i do not mow some foremans yard and had him pull for me ? i do know for a fact a few people who got postions at n/s because they had a foreman to pull for them. you know this is truly a shame that someone with qualifications does not have a chance to get a job there with this going on. its a shame that someone who is qualifed to do the job is pushed aside because someone has Pull. thank you norfolk southern for me wasting vacation days attending your worthless hiring sessions. thank you norfolk for keeping me there thursday for 10.5 hours of wasted time knowing you was not hiring me.
such a class act. too bad csx is not bigger here to give you a challange.

you have hit the nail on the head here. its common knowledge norfolk southern uses "the buddy system"
they have the hiring sessions to appease the feds, then they hire the sons or cousins of previous hires. yes they are very corrupt.

When you go to these hiring sessions do you make it to the room for an interview after you take the test?

If you are not making it to the interviews then you are not passing the test.

If you are going to the interviews then you are not impressing them.

They like their employees to be healthy. They won't hire anyone that smokes or dips now. They do usually like to hire younger people too but not always.

They look at your personal heigine too. They want people who will take care of themselves.

Oh btw CSX sucks. Look up their safety records and compare them to Norfolk Southern. Plus NS pays for their employees training. Last time I heard CSX does not and it is pretty expensive.

What a bitch! He may be coming to you for an easy piece of ass but he's going home to her at night and spending his money on her. Did he buy you a house or a car? I bet the only thing he's spent on you was the money for the HOtel room!

Anyone that messes with a railroader is just plain nasty. Blue-collar job that trailer trash think is 'good' money. Totally pathetic. You deserve what you get.

are you saying you are married to your husband for his money? women like you need to learn how to keep your men happy in the bedroom as well as keep house and take care of the kids. you have to earn that house and car. my wife knows if she dont keep me happy i will find someone who can at least keep me happy in the sack. i have cheated and i will cheat again. if she dont like it she can leave and she has but always cmes back. i bet you would to if your husband cheated on you we know what kind of women we can manipulate and those are the ones we want as wives we hook them and keep them dependant on us and then we do as we please.

The Cheating Railroader
My husband came in around 530am this morning and left at 1600 for 1630(5:30pm) planned train. So with all this time away from home and living in a hotel for days many people want to know; does he cheat? Well, as of right now the answer is a definite no! I know this because he is always bringing up all the other cheating Railroad husbands. Now when he stops talking about these cheaters Iím going to be a little concerned.

So what stories of cheating Railroaders has he told me?

Numerous railroaders hit the strip club when they enjoy their hotel layover and usually bring the strippers back to the hotel.

A particular married, father of 4, engineer enjoys trying to pick up the front desk clerks.

Wife swapping has caused numerous divorces and remarriages throughout the railroad. By the way these people arenít as good looking as you would expect.

Some Railroaders even keep a whole other family on the other side of the state.

Donít forget the female employee that has slept with every coworker imaginable.

Iím particularly not intimidated by any of these stories because as a railroaderís wife and mother of his two children because Iím entitled to about $2000 a month in child support plus a 3rd of his pension if he cheats and earns himself a divorce. I might feel different when I lose my looks but for now I double dog dare him to cheat!

What can you expect being married to a Railroader:(The following examples are just from my own personal experience)
∑ Be prepared to spend all Holidays, social functions, ultrasound appointments, and birthdays alone.
∑ Donít expect much help with newborn care or infant care because the railroad is a sleep sensitive job.
∑ No contact your husband while he is on the train due to Federal law unless you call the worldís most unreliable emergency number.
∑ The phone will ring at all hours of the day and night since younger railroaders work on call.
∑ Donít expect your husband to have more than 24-48 hours off at a time (I mean hours)
∑ Be prepared to basically be a single parent.
∑ The chances of him being gone 48-72 at a time is very likely
∑ Be prepared to answer difficult questions; Like where is your husband? Are you guys having problems because he is never around?
∑ Handle all car problems, possible intruders, and be able to shoot whatever critter the dog has decided to try and kill this week.
∑ Expect a strained relationship with your in-laws because he just doesnít want to make time to visit them and they blame you.
∑ There is no such thing as couples night or family vacations until he gets some good seniority.
∑ There is no time for coupleís therapy.
∑ Most of your complaints will be answered with; itís my job, what do you want me to do?

So how do you deal with this kind of lifestyle?

My philosophy is put on your big Girl Pants and does it yourself!

Be thankful you didnt make it you might have ended up like the man I had an affair with. Full of himself and possibly lose his devoted wife and kids.

TVA is the worse. They only hire people who are RELATED to someone! So unless you belong to a family that has had generations of TVA employees in it, dont waste your time applying!

.There are a few....but they are older than dirt.Single ones? Most are married with FWB on the side. The wives won't leave the money and these men know it. Wouldn't you care if someone only was with you for the money....pathetic. There are the children to consider as well. If a wife does leave they bellyache about the child support so better to stay with someone. Now, I am sure some of the wives will come on here protesting their man's faithfulness to them....but it doesn't exist. This thread will be deleted because all threads about cheating RR worker are. Find a man in another profession honey or be prepared to be cheated on.

You either have shi t game or are super old and fugly. As soon as most EP women find out I'm a railroader...they instantly wanna hook up. Then it's all "you don't have to use a condom. I'm on birth control. You can cum in me." Funk those lazy a ss easy payday hunting hookers! You're going about it all wrong any way. If you're just looking for a lay, then just flash your wad of cash at the bar or buy them a line. Then it's open season.
Oh and you ain't making no 100g's as a conductor. Especially with the even more restictive RSIA regulations taking place. Maybe as an engineer but you gotta stay marked up 100% of the time, and as far as health insurance, it used to be the best. Now your emergency copay is $75 and your annual out of pocket jumped to 4g's family when it used to only be 1g. Even the mothly deductible is up to $200 now with it jumping to $220 by mid 2013. When I started that deductible used to be $0, AND your union representation SUCKS! Retirement is still pretty good though as long as you do your 30service/60yrs of age and you max out on your tier 1 and 2 annually

This is bull shit! You seriously think your husband doesn't cheat because he talks about the ones that do?

Well honey let me tell you from experience that's not the case. They know exactly what to say to make you not worry. I know because my husband did it for years! If he has a smart phone then he's cheating. Look up pinger, I bet he has an account. The guys who have gotten away with cheating for so long share all thier little tricks. Look at the dating sites, bet you'll find him. He knows he can get away with it too cause you don't suspect anything. Some guys go as far as telling the other guys they have an open marriage so their wives won't find out about their affairs. Take it from someone who knows first hand, don't put anything past a railroader!

we all know anyone in any profession can cheat but these men have a greater opportunity than one might think. especially if they have a mate who is needy and gullible or cheats themselves (then they dont care they just reap the benefits of a steady paycheck and a spouse who is away all the time so that they can do as they please) talking about coworkers who cheat is just part of mind manipulation. they do share their secrets. its like a fraternity. they have each others back. even if your man has never cheated he will soon realize how easy it is to get some action on the side. specially if the wife at home is tired from all the things she has to do to keep his family picture perfect for fb and christmas card photos. its a relationship based on keeping up an image. railroad= good money = good man. not necessarily. just look at any railroaders fb its just a obvious attempt to convince coworkers and others that they are hardworking family minded men that have eyes only for their wife. post pictures of the family and sweet loving comments about the wife. its a ruse. im a wife. not happy but feel stuck. he has cheated. said he wouldnt do it again but he has planted the doubt. I pose for the pictures and smile so he looks good. another woman would never look at him until he tells them what he does for a living but i knew him before and thats who i fell in love with. not what he has become. it breeds a very arrogant man.

i do stay with him despite my own unhappyness but only for the kids. they dont get a lot of time with their father unless its during a vacation. what time they see their father its as if hes the greatest man on earth. i wont destroy that image for them but as a husband he is lacking. i know that if we divorced time with their father would be even more limited because he would have to get married again. he needs a woman because he could never do for himself the things i do for him to keep his life running smooth. he would never be able to balance a new wife with the kids. unless shes a very understanding woman and wouldnt mind the neglect that i have endured.financially i have not suffered but emotionally he has damaged me. i would never encourage our daughter to date a man in the same profession as her father but we will cross that bridge when we come to it. when kids are older i will divorce but like everything else it is up to me to hold this family together and make sure the kids are happy and taken care of. i like to think of him as a celebrity who makes guest appearances on our very own reality show .its how i cope.
