This salon is made to accommodate children. Sadly I'm pretty sure everyone in the salon hates children! They are so unprofessional that it made my child extremely upset. The owners of the salon act like they are better than everyone and then want to stay up and under you as the stylist is doing the hair. I have also witnessed the owner getting onto on of the stylist and putting them down in front of customers! Not something I would recommend doing in your business.

I thought that this was going to be a great experience but boy was I wrong! I WILL NOT go back there to let these ppl cut my children's hair. Bless the stylist that was doing my child's hair bc she seemed like she was not having a great day but she put a smile on her face and gave my child a great hair cut.

The crappy service that was given there is enough for me to never return!

Ok, I wasn't going to 'bash' this business on here, but the more I thought about it, the more furious I got.

As a moderately well known female in the Chattanooga area, I was highly enthused to try a new local stylist joint for my daughter before her big cheer leading picture day. A fried recommended the place as I was slacking on making reservations elsewhere.

After arriving at the salon, I wouldn't even allow my daughter to sit in the salon chair without cleaning it off as there was a thin layer of dust as if NOBODY has sat in this chair for months. Not only did the stylist not have a positive attitude, it was apparent that there were underlying problems with herself and the 'boss'.

During my visit, not only did I witness the employee disrespect the 'boss', but the 'boss' also incessantly pushing the employee until she started making other comments to another employee. I'm all for running your business as you see fit, hit when your nasty negative attitude is affecting my mood as a customer then management needs to be reevaluated.

I will NEVER be going back to this place and I will NEVER let someone THINK about coming back there.

I really wanted to like this place but I just can't! The stylists seem inexperienced, uneducated and it is apparent they have no clue what they are doing. They aren't even good with kids to make up for their lack of skills. I went in asking for a simple trim for my sons hair and the stylist told me it looks pretty short what do you want me to do....(Umm, how about make it shorter!) The place is very expensive too which I wouldn't mind if it was worth it but it sadly is not. The stylist also cut up my sons head with the buzzer and when I pointed it out she claimed that must have been there when we arrived. Overall, the haircut came out awful, the stylist was awful, the price was way too expensive. Trust me, save your sanity and your money and go elsewhere!!!!!

get over it! the hair will grow back! sounds like your problem goes beyond a haircut by this stylist. sounds like you have a personal problem with her. is she sleeping with your husband or boyfriend? sounds like you made this up just to get back at a woman who you dont like.

I second the no personal skills of the 'stylist' and the bad a$$ attitudes. Not only did my child complain about the teeny bopper cutting his hair too short, but the stylist seemed to be under the influence. She dozed off and almost dropped the buzzer. And, that's not the worst of it. Hair DOES grow back, but ANY management in a children's facility should be ashamed to allow their employees to show up to work dressed in atire made for a topless bar. If you want to expose yerself for tips, I know a few bars hiring in the local area.
I will NEVER bring my child back into this salon and I hope SOMEONE looks into the drugs, filth and character of not only the establishment, but the young girls and management.
I really wouldn't be surprised if we see this salon on the news for turning tricks to lonely dads that bring their children there.

PULLING MY PIGTAILS..........I remember you, I also brought my son in the salon the same day as you, you were the very heavy set lady with the over weight child. You were complaining to me about how the company is inconsiderate by not thinking about over weight children feelings because your over weight child could not fit in the regular stylist seat. It is not the company fault that you and your child are very obese. I understand that being fat has its disadvantages, but that is no one fault but yours. My kid loved his new haircut and he loved the car that he sat in while the stylist cut his hair. If your kid over weight problem bothers you then change it or deal with it. But it's not the company fault that your kid didn't like his haircut because he couldn't fit in the regular stylist seats like the normal size kids.

First, let me begin by saying there was only ONE person overweight that was in the vicinity and it was neither me nor my child.(: However, it is too cute that you believe you remember me.

Again, when I was there it was MYSELF, MY DAUGHTER, 2 stylists (one of which was chunky, but wore it well) and the person who APPEARED to. be the 'boss'.(:

You are Infact either the 'boss' or the snotty stylist who still got tipped rather decently for your lack of attention to detail and lack of patient with a young. child. If I could turn back time...

I really enjoyed my visit. Are we talking about the same salon? Kelly the owner is the smallest and softest spoken lady ever. Her two stylist were well dressed. The salon was clean, no chairs in a waiting room soaked in dust. I'm not sure if the owner had to fire some staff but these comments sound false and perhaps... an x employee? There are chairs that are beside the chair your kid would like to sit in, for mom and dad. I would rate this salon 100 the staff was nice and did a good job with my kid (who can be a little devil at the salon.) I would say try it before you judge it. Or take advice from a teenage girl who's idol was 16 and pregnant, or some lady who got fired?? The salon was clean the service was kind and the owner was soft spoken. I asked her who owned this place, and she said she did. I had no idea the entire time I was there she was the owner. She was not running all over the place telling her staff what to do. Or in your face at all. She was quite lovely to chat with. I will return and make sure to tell my friends.

I was so excited when I heard there was a pigtails and crewcuts in town. We have been to the one in Atlanta several times and loved it. We visited the east brainerd location last week. I saw no dirty or dusty chairs, and no uptight works or management. Everyone was very friendly and the salon was extremely clean. The stylist was really nice and my son enjoyed her. However, I was not satisfied with his cut. I wish I could say that we would return but unfortunately I feel it's not worth it. Besides my sons bad haircut our experience was great. I hope this location does well but we will be returning to Atlanta where the stylists are a bit more "in the know" on children's hair.

We went for my 2.5 year olds first haircut today. When looking for their number on line I ran into the "reviews" that are listed above. After reading the bad ones and the catty come backs I was hesitant. I called my sister who lives in another state who is a hair stylist and told her about the reviews. She said I should judge for myself that some parents are particularly unreasonable and expect a perfect hair cut even on a thrashing, fit pitching child. So I tried it out. The experience was excellent the stylist (Nicole) went out of her way to ease my shy but obstinate 2 year old. I stepped away and watched from a distance, because my daughter can be a total pain with me present but a perfect angel, or so I am told, when I am away. I watched from the party room. Another stylist stepped in to help with my squirming child she blew bubbles while Nicole trimmed her hair. They were awesome; bless them for their patience because they have a hard job trying to cut the hair of a squirming little ones all day. No tears and a nice trim. The only problem was that my daughter did not want to leave. We will be back and recommend them to others!

I hate that you did not have a good experience there but I have to ask where on earth are you getting a haircut other than a chop shop that is less than $17? Maybe since we previously lived elsewhere we found the price reasonable. I feel these stylist really have their work cut out for them (pun intended) and the amount of time and effort it took for them to cut my little ones hair the price was acceptable - they have to make a living too!

I have taken my kids (3 year old girl, 5 year old boy) to Pigtails and Crewcuts twice since they opened. We went a couple of weeks after they opened last summer (August??), and then again last week.

The first experience was great. I met both of the owners, and they were both extremely nice. Even though they didn’t cut hair, they went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. I don’t remember the name of the stylist, but she did a very good job. It was obvious that the salon had only been open for a short time – the building was very clean and everybody was great, but you could tell they were all still trying to get to know each other and get on the same page (as a small business owner myself, I know it takes a great deal of time to get the kinks worked out). That being said, we were very happy with the haircuts, and we knew the shop dynamics would get better with time.

Last week’s trip was even better than the first. The salon was busy when we arrived, but the wait wasn’t very long (less than the average wait at a great clips). Both kids had fun playing with the train table and building blocks while we were waiting. There was a birthday party going on in the back room, and the shop had a great overall feel to it. All of the customers (kids and parents) left looking very happy, and I was impressed how clean the shop was given the amount of haircuts they were doing.

Once again, we left very happy. Our stylists Maggie and Casey were great. They were very nice and did a great job with the haircuts.

Don’t let the previous posts and reviews scare you. Our kids had a great time, and we will definitely be back.

They have birthday parties at a salon? I'm going to have to check this out. I'm not "well known" to the area as we just moved here and this place sounds interesting.

Let me start off I cut hair! Yes that's right I said it I work in a salon and do hair all day. I cannot cut my kids hair to save my own life. I am so thankful for these ladies. I agree with one of the comments above. Parents want a perfect haircut on a screaming, moving kid! I don't think parents realize the way you tilt your hard, looking down, tilted to the side will change the direction one is cutting. Hence messes up the cut. Not the stylist fault its your kids problem. Want a perfect cut hold them still. I will say as a stylist kids hair is horrible to work with for starters.
I loved my kid(s) haircuts. I have gotten compliments from strangers, and trust me my kids won't sit still. This why I can't cut my own kids hair at the salon I work at. I cut my hand so bad the last time I tried to cut my 2 year old. It took 14 stiches... I admire and feel really lucky to have these stylist. I don't see how they do it. I had nicole and maggie. Very happy with the haircuts I got. Totally impressd they didn't cut themselves with my tornado kids. Like I said I do hair I have for the last 20 years. I cannot cut kids hair. The salon I work at doesn't take kids cuts bc kids move around. And more chances than not the stylist gets cut. I hate kids haircuts I admire these ladies for doing it. Awe keep in mind we hairstylist get paid per hour. So the price on those haircuts are going into the owners pockets. And am
guessing for the partys too. I worked in a pigtails in AtL for about 4 days b4 my hands were so cut up I quit. But in ATL they do get paid per hour so party money and haircuts were 100% pocket by the owner. I think in Atl I got paid 9$ an hour.
Tip your local hairstylist as a stylist I can say its hard work!

P.s I didn't mean to point out I do hair and work in an adult salon to get clients. I said this to only point out that I don't do kids cuts. Bc last time I did it took 20 stiches to fix my hand. I admire these ladies for doing it. Like I said I worked at the pigtaisl in atl for 4 days. And trust me they don't get the $ from the haircuts or the birthday party. The owners do. The stylist get paid less than a wendys worker. So keep in mind even tho you are paying 16$ for the haircut. That stylist is only making 8$-9$ an hour.
Keep that in mind when bashing the salon for over priced haircuts. Kids move around, cry, and let's be honest you wouldn't want the stress of working with a moving kid and shears! I know I don't do kids cuts at the salon! Keep in mind while your kid is rockin out and moving, that stylist is only getting paid 8$ to cut their hair.

Loved it. I wasn't sure if I wanted to try it after the reviews I read. But after little gym we needed one badly (my kids 2.5 and 6) my little girl the 2yrold hates getting her haircut. The stylist was great, she wasn't wearing hooker clothes. They were both wearing pants and dress shirts (on a hot day.) They were polite and the salon was super clean. Clean enough my 6yrold kept trying to eat cookies off the floor. They have suckers and animal crackers at the stations for the kids. I was thrilled with my sons haircut. They let him play video games! While the cut was going on. I did not know the owner was in the salon. She is soft spoken, polite, kind, well dressed (not showing chest of behind. Or even legs or arms..) just a cute store and owner all around. The owner(s) are a mother daughter team. The only time the owner walked over to us is when my kid was crying/screaming. She came over and blew bubbles and gave my kid animal crackers. Clearly she asked before giving the crackers. I only found out she owned it after asking her who owns it. She was very very nice. I can't see how the old reviews are even about the salon.

Oh yes, forgot they don't even have a waiting room. And no chairs soaked in dust. Infact when I pulled up they were mopping and had the vaccume out. I had to ask if they were open (this was maybe before 2pm.)
I would agree the comments are false. There was no one waiting for a haircut after me. Both stylist helped eachother clean right away. As soon as we walked up to pay they were cleaning. If there was a waiting area they have some couches around a train table. They also have a block table and a coloring room with stacking blocks. Both rooms were clean, there was some paper with coloring stuff on the tables. But clearly a kid had drawn on the paper that's what its there for! And I wouldn't consider that a mess its just the only thing I noticed that was "messey". And again not their fault. Its here for the clients to use,not just look at. And wow what cute bows they have idk about your kids. But mine were touching everything! My son kept touching a fake rubber snake, the stylist even let him play with it while doing the haircut.

Yes they have birthday parties. Sorry didn't see your question. They do have them. The party we did was 2 hrs. I don't know if that's how long all of them run for. We did a spa party. How cute and what fun. Pedis and manis. Spa robes, cake and gifts. Such a joy. You do have to book the parties ahead of time. I did Sunday we paid extra. If the salon is closed you have to pay extra. I'm guessing that's how they get their staff to work those hrs or come in? If you book your party for salon hrs its cheaper. I'm very sure they included the tip for us when we had our party there. What else would that extra charge be?
