No One should have this much power or be allowed to abuse it.

For at least 4 years I have been helping others advocate for the Chris Reeve Paralysis Act. This year we have it out of committee by both chambers and passed by the house. It's awaiting a vote in the Senate.

However Senator Coburn from Oklahoma is holding this bill and many others as far as that goes by way of some Senate rule called a hold.

On his web site he states why he's doing this and in some cases maybe it's ok but I don't think so in my opinion. One Senator stopping the process and in reality he/she can if so chose remain annonymous.

The Chris - Dana Reeve Paralysis Act is NOT a embryonic stem cell research bill, it has 3 parts, quality of life, rehabilitation and a creation of a collaberation of researchers network.

On a side note we as a nation spend 36 million a year on all stem cell research while the state of California spends 300 milion a year.

Adult stem cells have shown promise in 73 conditions and we're just getting started. Knowing this could we as a nation possibly under fund this research?

Anyway please visit Sen. Coburn's web site and read a bit. If your as disappointed as I was with this type of thing ask him to stop and urge him to let the Chris, Dana Reeve Paralysis Act move forward.

Thanks for listening.

Sincerely, Leo
