I'm sorry but what year was God abolished anyway?`Do you even know how many school shooting there have been in this country? My god man, educate yourself.

There were nearly 100 of them from 1900-1970! The biggest difference is the amount of damage caused (gee I wonder why, better weapons perhaps?) and the amount of press received.

1-Put us guard shacks with trained and armed guards.
2-Have a system that locks all class rooms and office at the flip of a switch.
3-Video camaras on all entrance ways and exits and strategic points around the School with someone trained to monitor till the last child has gone home.
I know a lot of you will say that we can't afford these kind of things. If the big carpet mills in the area can afford to protect their assets with guards and camras then we as taxpayers should be able to afford to protect our most precious assets. Our yourger ones deserves to live and learn without the fear some nut case trying to kill them. What's money anyways? Just Government print!
I'm willing to pay for all of it.

Armed guards can be shot. There were 3 police officers shot in a police station just today. I think every room should have a button to make each room a panic room. If a teacher hears shots, they hit the button and a sheet of solid metal without a doorknob slides over all the doors and windows in the room.

Not in the school that I work. Paddling is allowed by the state and the BOE but the principals have the choice to allow it or not.

Not saying that this particular article is wrong, just saying Wikipedia is not used as a reliable source. Write a college paper or dissertation and use Wikipedia.... Prepare to be laughed out of a degree program.

You must be a very brave fellow, wanting to paddle a guy with a ak47 or bushmaster 223. or even a hand gun or crossbow.Kids are not the problem ,adults or the problem. We have lived in this world for millions of years and there is only one thing that has ever worked or ever will and that is kill or be killed,we use it every day on other people without question.Put the armed guards in every school in America, but for every cure, there is a side effect, one wrong guard and you have really got a problem. There is no 100% guarantee that anything will work ,but a dead man has never came back to fire another shot."The MEDIA will have to take a lot of the responsibility for all of these shootings,as they are giving them just exactly what they want and crave. The more you feed them the more they will grow and that is a fact of life.

Sounds great Doo and I agree with you ,But the first thing you would have to do is and where you are going to run into a problen with it ,is all of these young ungrateful republican's that don't want to pay taxes in order to get it done.It will cost hundreds of billions of dollars to get it done in all of our schools. It is also going to cost hundreds of billions of dollars to start taking care of the mentally ill people again, remember when we threw them out on to the street, because the people no longer wanted to pay taxes to keep them up.I guess it comes down to where you place your priorities,we could also stop abortion over night,if only people were willing to pay enough in taxes to help keep them up after they were born.Again it's "PRIORITIES".bobbie
This has nothing to do with political parties but the safety of our children!! What an ignorant statement.

"Republican concerned Citizen"It has every thing to do with politics ,taxes and parties and you are also right someone is "ignorant".I fully realise it will take a lot of money to do what is necessary and I as a full blooded Democrate am willing to pay my part, whatever it costs to protect our schools.Sooner or later there is going to have to be some full blooded Republicans realise that it takes money honey, you have to be willing to pay taxes for what you want. The only thing that I have seen the republicans willing to spend money on is two unfunded wars ,tax cuts to the rich, unfunded drug programs and to get re-elected.It has everything to do with politics , parties and priorities, but again your right someone is "ignorant".

there is computer software that can determine a threat through its cameras..just the sight of a gun would cause the software to lock all doors and begin sirens and automatic calls to police...there are no problems ,there are only solutions as john lennon sang...probably a good idea all schools install it..you can find it in popular science...its the same reason panoramic rear view mirrors are not standard in all autos...we got the tech but they have an agenda.
