So Murray Hospital Authority is taking over the hospital. No one on the Authority knows anything about running a hospital. They have no money. They want the employees to trust our PAL time to them. They want us all to increase our taxes to do it. Dr. Polow now works for Gordon Hospital and she is the lead dog from the Murray Authority to say let's go it alone. Roy Orr, the consultant and new CEO, is an Adventist and friend of Gordon's administrator. I smell a screw coming to the Murray tax Payors by Dr. Polow and her new boss (GordonHospital).

One reason the hospital is so broke is they sell debt for pennies on the dollar, instead of letting the patient continue making apyments as agreed. I have made two payments on my account as agreed, and just got a letter from collection agency. I just don't understand how they can do that. I'm taking my business to Gordon co hospital from now on.

Is anyone surprised? You can't keep letting the same foxes guard the coop and expect anything better.
The amount of ego, politics and personal gain that takes place in the name of that hospital is criminal.
Any employee who has ever had the balls to speak out about what goes on there is fired.
The best solution is just to sell the place to anyone that will take it off of the taxpayers hands. It will either get better or close it's doors. At least the Jim Hazels, Dr. Polos and Roy Orrs of the world won't profit from it's failure.

Why don't you go down and talk to the people at Murray County Hospital about your bill. You might be surprised at what you find.
Don't call - go see them. A few people found after going Murray did not turn them in for collection - it happened another way.

My heart breaks because everyone has opinions but how many has really been involved enough to know the truth. The truth will set all free if one will truly seek it.

I am not defending Dr. Polow or anyone but I will tell you what I know for a fact. When my family member, who was 75, doctors closed
their office, he was faced with having to find a new doctor. The only doctor, and I repeat, the only doctor, in Whitfield or Murray County that would accept new medicare patients is Dr. Polow. Medicare is not welfare. People 65 and over are requierd to go on Medicare unless still working and covered by a group employer plan.
It's not a choice. Even your walk-in facilities don't want them. She took them all and you can be assured it was not because of the great amount of money they generate. That's why other doctors don't want them. Why don't you ask Dr. Polow why she sold her practice to Gordon. Maybe it was to help bring physicians who were willing to help care for these seniors, mine and your mother, father, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles - maybe even you and me.
Maybe she like many of us is getting older and realizes something has to change and she's willing to try. I appreciate the fact that new doctors are coming to town who are willing to care for patients that other doctors here either don't want or feel they can afford to do.

When our family needed a new Dr we went to Dr Yara Fattouh at Magnolia Family Medicine in Chatsworth. I was very sick and she saw me within an hour from my call. She is a true family Dr and does just about everything in her office. So blessed to have found her and she does accept Medicare.

I use Yara Fattouh also and love her but she would not accept my family member because he was on Medicare. He even has a supplement that pays what medicare does not pay. Actually, I have another family member who had used Dr. Fattouh when she was at Dr. Sutters former office. When Dr. Fattough went out on her own she would not see my sister, who just turned 65, any longer because she had not seen Dr. Fattouh in 3 months. She had been seen in the office where Dr. Fattouch worked several times in the previous 3 months but by the PA and not the doctor. It's not that I think doctors don't care. It's because medicare allowable amounts are low and eventho one has a supplement to go with it - medicare sets the limits.
My family member did not make the calls. I did, and I know Dr. Polow was the only one that would take him. Everyone else told me we would just need to use the emergency room when he needed a doctor. It's not like that in Chattanooga. He has specialists there but one needs a local doctor and since he lives in Chatsworth it would be great to have a general practioner in Chatsworth or at least Dalton. She was the only one!
Don't take my word for it - try calling around asking if they will accept a new medicare patient. If you are 60 or older and healthy please don't wait to get yourself a family dr. before turning 65.
They will keep you if your an established patient but won't take you on as a new patient.

Once again the point is missed.
Your personal relationship with your doctor and the fact that the hospital is beyond corrupt are different subjects.

Explain how the hospital is corrupt and you had better be honest and precise, I don't want to hear rumors or hearsays just the truth if you have any. Thank you

I don't believe calling out names here is productive. I will say that the two biggest losses have come from time and material. That is to say people getting paid not to work and theft of materials. There has also been many cases of cronyism where contractors paid kickbacks.

The biggest problem I've heard about MMC is that they happily "forget" to send bills. So, your $10 bill becomes a $130 bill once they send it out for collections.

Maybe you should approach one of the board members about this if you have evidence of this going on.

I don't think I'd be telling them something they don't already know. The problem as I see it is the re-cycling of bad employees and leadership.
Sell it off and get some non-local new blood in there to administer it.

i have always predicted that once mmc is gone from hmc and all the dust settles then gordon will pick us up. for now they want the publicity to die down so that it can be done in a blink of an eye. i hate to see mmc go to gordon but wait and see if it happens this way.

What you failed to explain to the fellow readers is Gordon County does not own Gordon County Hospital the Church of Latter Days Saints does. The hospital in Calhoun is very professional and privately owned by the church. No taxes from Gordon County to this hospital.

My daughter works in Floyd County Health Field. She told me that most doctors have quit taking Medicare and Medicaid because of the Health Care Bill not paying their office fees but want to pay what the government wants to give them. It takes up to 180 days to get paid anything from the government. I would not run a business unless I knew I would get paid.
