Get your facts straight before running your mouths about everybody. Nothing happen between these two. They have always been friends And talked the city has really messed up this time by letting Martin handle things he has no clue how to handle anything. If you want to talk about city phones let check his phone records and see how much is used on personal stuff.

Are you smoking crack? I don't care where you work ( McDonald's) if you know an employee is remotely trying to "get with" another employes wife/husband ? Besides, numb nut... Can you imagine what type of work environment this will create? Let's not forget ( if ) he was texting on a Compnay phone as the article states, that's all you need. No wonder your county is a lust festival, you're proof of it. At one time your county as known or knocked up teenagers well, now we know why... Mommy & daddy's over there are oversexed. It all makes sense now, and we thought you all were just uneducated. That does not count your commish online degrees.
Whitehead’s personnel file is also paradoxical; it includes two separation notices. The first was issued Nov. 2, one day after Whitehead was written up for violating department policies for on- and off-duty conduct, and gives the “reason for separation” as the policies he violated.“Jimmy Whitehead had inappropriate contact with another officer’s wife. Texting and photos,” according to the employee notice signed by Martin and Whitehead’s supervisor. A handwritten notation on the separation notice, dated Nov. 5, states “clerical error due to communication error.”

I don't see anything that states he used a company phone "numb nut". Also I didn't say that he shouldn't be dis-missed, I said "TooLegittoQuit wrote: I didn't realize that the city's employment policy states that if you have an affair with a fellow employees spouse that you would be dismissed from your job."

You should try taking your meds and calm down a little before you start making comments.
I don't think I said anything that "proved" our county is a "lust festival". As for being uneducated, I think you've proved where you fall in that category.("At one time your county as known or knocked up teenagers well, now we know why... Have a nice day and remember to take your pills.

My question is, what are the city council and others going to be charged with lying? It's very clear after reading the Chattanooga paper, they knew something.

I believe the problem is "sexting" on a county issued phone. Same situation with ex judge cochran.

Anybody should know that being in law enforcement does not pay very well.
If you completely cut out the wife hopping, husband hopping and whore hopping you couldn't get anyone to work.
This is true in every Police, Sheriff's Dept, GBI, FBI, Secret SErvice, DNR DOT and any other enforcement agency that get's to drive a State or County car or wear a uniform.
It's just like Retirement pension and Medical Insurance it comes with the job. Almost all of them have been divorced several times if they have been around the job very long.
Leave them alone and let them have their fun.Their job is to serve and protect.

My guess is the city DID NOT have written policy, being the reason the termination was reversed so quickly to be called a reduction in force.
Termination on grounds not covered under written/signed policy could have had potential consequences the city could not defend.
Botched all the way around in my opinion.
Conduct policy has been a fact of life in the "real world" for 20 years or more. Unfortunately most small, local governments don't have to live in the real world, even in 2012.
The failings of city hall and the chief of police have allowed Whitehead to pull down $15-20K in unemployment benefits at the expense of the taxpayers for what would certainly be a fireable offense in over 90% of business/industry/government jobs in America
