Informed Voter in Murray

Dalton, GA

#1 Oct 12, 2012
I am convinced ALL the Republican candidates are well qualified. This is our first opportunity to vote for real change and feel Murray county gov't will improve when they are in office. Regardless of party most citizens in this county do believe we need change in how our county government is run. Vote for Langford, McCurdy and Flood.

Just the facts. The commissioner has lost his re-election bid (changed, with a lot of help from democrats), the judges are non-partisan (favorite cloak of those who want to hide their principals, but changed anyway), and the incumbent democrats appear to be good Christians, upstanding and honest (but incompetent and need to be changed also). As local democrats love to say "party doesn't matter", so why shouldn't democrats vote for positive change in these races?

Yah, I'd hate for the local democrats to lose all 3 seats they hold, while the other 20 republicans stay in power.

You can bash the democrats all you want, but it's the republicans in control of this county, and it's the republicans who are driving it into the ground.

Please tell us who the Republicans are. All elected officials, with the exception of the school board are Democrat. So, who is running the county in the ground. Sheriff - Democrat. Tax Commissioner - Democrat.
Clerk of Court - Democrat. I just plain don't get your post.

For years I thought the positions we vote on for this county should be non-partisan. Many people in our county vote for the person by the letter after their name. We might start getting the BEST CANDIDATE ELECTED if not voting for a PARTY. Just my thought.

What leads you to believe that the voters haven't been voting for the person in previous elections? A candidate's political affiliation is their choice, those who want to hide their political principals from the voters can always run as an independent. Politicians will not run as an independent, it seems that voters prefer to know what their political leanings are and won't vote for "independents". Those who want nonpartisan elections only want to hide information from the voters, it's called 'deceiving the great unwashed' by political consultants.
