I assume you're talking about Pritchett with the wet behind the ears comment. Why slam someone you probably don't know. Put your life in the hands of someone who can "do the call of duty"? Lets see, Gary was a State Trooper for the last 27 years so that means he wrote traffic citations and worked traffic accidents. Thats what the GSP does.
And Sheriff Ensley has been doing the job all of his life too so why change?
Been there and can do the call of duty, now that's funny.
You really need to learn what ALL the GEORGIA STATE PATROL does before you start talking about them.

he was when he was a deputy.
And you know this how? Why don't you contact the Sgt. at The State Patrol Post where he worked and ask him where he was ranked on his activity. You will learn that he wasn't LAZY at all. Also, before you start putting anything on here about anyone, you need to make sure you have all of your facts RIGHT!

Thats right. And it's the same reason he probably
was never promoted by the GSP.

Well, apparently you don't know him that well to know what he was with the GSP. Get your facts straight before you start things on here. He is not lazy at all. He has worked very hard for where he is now. And until you talk to him, don't start your lies.

Well JOHN (or whoever you are) you stated in an earlier post that he WAS NEVER PROMOTED and now you are saying he PROBABLY WAS NEVER PROMOTED. Which one is it? I thought you knew ALL because you worked with him. If you will read his handout it tells you what he's done:

Chatsworth Police Dept: Radio Operator to a Road Officer

MC Sheriff's Dept: Deputy, PROMOTED to Sergeant, then Detective

Georgia State Patrol: Communication Officer, Trooper Cadet, Trooper, Trooper First Class, Senior Trooper, then retired as a MASTER TROOPER.

Went on the job as a trooper after 27 years came off the job as a trooper. Thats like being a buck private in the Army for 27 years. Why in all that time did no one see fit to promote him?Every GSP I know of has some rank after that period of time.I would like to know why he was never promoted.
Per Mr. Langford's handout:

Total Law Enforcement years: 38
Total GSP years: 27

Chatsworth Police Dept: Radio Operator to a Road Officer

MC Sheriff's Dept: Deputy, promoted to Sergeant, then Detective

**Georgia State Patrol: Communication Officer, Trooper Cadet, Trooper, Trooper First Class, Senior Trooper, then retired as a MASTER TROOPER. These were his titles while he was with the GSP.
Hope this helps.

After attending the Chatsworth Times forum, I will be voting for Mr. Pritchett for Sheriff. I agree that both Gary, or Keith could do the job, however I liked what Keith said about getting drug sniffing dogs, as a priority, if elected. His experience in law enforcement, and working with drug sniffing dogs, are a plus in my decision.

As far as Ken Smith, he seems like a nice guy, however just not Sheriff material, in my opinion.

Drug dogs are a plus but where is the money going to come from to get them? They do cost a lot and I'm not sure the COUNTY can afford one right away. The sheriff's dept. couldn't keep up the one they had. That's why there's not one.

I never said that he was never promoted. Go back and read it again. But then if you can't comprehend what you read don't waste your time.

They can get the dogs free using grants. The current sheriff could even pay for them himself if he wasn't so greedy and took a pay cut or even stopped SOME people from going to the beach for nonsense training. They don't have a dog now because the deputies are too lazy to take responsibility for training and taking care of a dog. Pritchett will provide dogs using drug money and grants and he WILL take care of them and train them well, just like he always has.

The money for these dogs are not a issue, Drug cases involve money and property that are seized and given to the county. The money must be only used for equipment for the dept.(ie: Drug dogs, vehicles ect.)A dog would be paid for very quickly.

And is he going to use his salary to pay for the up-keep of the dog/dogs as in care, training, and usually the officer/officers that have these dogs are paid extra also?

And you know exactly how much DRUG MONEY is out there?
It's by LUCK when some does come in because there's to much "Cover UP" going on and if Ensley is voted out the drug dealers will move on to someone/some place else
