Out of the Big 3 carpet mills. Which one is the worst to work for? I've known dozens of people that work for Mohawk, and I've heard numerous horror stories about that place. Why is Mohawk such a terrible place to work? Is it different for every mill? Or is just a few the worst of the worst?

I've had this theory recently that with worsening work conditions comes a worsening attitude in your daily life. And which the vast majority of our population working for carpet mills, and the work conditions getting worse. I think the mills are to blame for the overall drop in respect and cheerfulness of our county.

I can remember a time when Galaxy was a great company to work for, but Mohawk came in and ran the place into the ground.

What say you people? Have any horror stories about the mills? Or were you treated unfairly? Post here and vent some frustration at these fools.

My son worked for one of the big three during the George W. Bush era and was expected to be loyal to the Republican Party. They were given tapes of him and I remember him saying the garbage was packed full of them at the end of the day. That's an example of how the weatlhy try to control the working class. The same company was very agressive about hiring Mexicans to do their labor. I heard they had bill boards along the Mexico border telling them where to come and get a job. Good old Republicans at work. That's why Dalton is like it is today. Now they claim to want to stop immagration.....Go figure!

Beaulieu picks favorites and trys way too hard to fool people into thinking they are something great. Employees aren't taught anything about their jobs and have to "wing-it".

I hear that about Mohawk too. Don't ever insult the schedule makers because they'll cut you in a hurry. Been there over 20 years? Well, you're making too much and you don't need to work next week. Wife have an injury and Mohawk won't handle the claim honorably? Might as well be looking for a job yourself as Mohawk will start taking your days away.

Unless you have expertise sucking up abilities forget it. Sometimes that will give you an edge, but what's so funny is sometimes that doesn't even help.lol

With all the negative, I would like to say I work for Shaw and they are a great company to work for! If your a hard worker and want to better yourself, it don't matter who you are, they will support you and help in every way for you to reach your goals! I'm am truly blessed to have been there for over 16 years!

Rumer has it that today there is going to be a big ICE raid in Dalton. It's a strange thing to me that the big three guys don't ever get raided. It's always the places like waste companies or chicken processing but never none of the big three. My question is do you think that there are payoffs under the table like the mofia does. Pay me for protection or get busted? Just saying...?

I've never understood something about these carpet mills. Why doesn't seniority mean anything there? You have a person that has worked there for 30 years, has asked to be moved to 1st shift, yet they hire a new person, put them on 3rd shift, and move the person that's been working there for a year to first shift? I've never understood the thinking of these places. Why do you get treated like trash when you've worked there so long? Why aren't the most senior people asked to work and the new hires layed off?

I think the old saying is "it's not what you know but who you know". I have heard that Mohawk is especially bad to do these things from some kin folks that worked there in the past. I have never worked for them thank God.

I worked for Beaulieu some odd years ago. I will never work for a mill again unless my family is starving. Beaulieu was my motivation for getting my college degrees. I've never understood how any work gets done there.

Word is that Beaulieu bought Flagship carpets last week. Flagship was part of Blue Ridge Carpets in Ellijay. They say a lot of people lost their jobs at blue Ridge carpets because of this. Anyone else know anything about this?

Should have brought unions in a long time ago. Too late now.

Working conditions, illegal labor, living wage, higher standard of livingÂ….. oh wellÂ….. reap what you sew.

Beaulieu wouldn't be so bad if they just had some supervisors that could make decisions on their own instead of relying on certain busy body employees to make their decisions for them.

Last week Mohawk laid off 11 long time employees where I work... And this week they are bringing in mexicans to replace them! Mohawk is notorius for hiring illegals!! It was PROVEN in court! And still going on!

Mohawk is a wonderful place to work. If you haven't worked there, you have no business commenting.
