Where does this investigation stand? If it's known who planted the meth why is nobody in jail? How long should this take? Will it all just quietly go away?
they hope it will

Just the fact that someone is in possession of meth and it is not from a bust makes them guilty of possession doesn't it? Well then if a cop is in possession and no logical explanation of where the drugs came from makes him guilty. Tells me also they know someone that uses and sold or gave it to them. Either way it is against the law so bust their ass.

As to whether they lied and about what seems like a given they were guilty of something or they would not have lied, right? Well then there you go, they broke the law

I think I said from the very first that no one would be happy when this was all over with.Well it's just about over with and the great GBI is no more honest than the rest of the crooks.FBI must be no better we haven't heard anything from them,so does that mean that even the FBI in Georgia is corrupt also?Must be something in the air in Georgia and right now it has settled over Murray County.

All the people I know say the investigation is still on going, they dont get in no hurry thats for sure, but I think the axe will fall very soon on those involved, so maybe justice will prevail, an by the way I agree with what you said.

The officer was not in possession of the drugs before the arrest.
It has been stated over & over that the person that confessed to planting the drugs WAS NOT an officer.
So that means the officer DID NOT have the drugs before he made the stop/arrest.
It also means that NO ONE gave the drugs to the officer.
Haven't y'all read the articles about the confession????

Do you really believe everything you read or is it just from the newspaper.

If a cop would lie to the GBI do you want to believe everything else they say because they only told one little white lie "according to them". Come on!

The investigation is far from over. The GBI and FBI are still in Murray daily.

Just saying,
It wasn't an officer that put the drugs on the car.
Hasn't anyone on here said they know the guy that confessed??
He's not in law enforcement.

According to the dalton daily news the federal has finally made a move ,both the sheriff's office and the GBI seems to have turned it over to the federal, that's a very good thing .

Welcome and make yourself at home. Look up some locals and ask some questions and see what really is cooking here and clean this place up.

This case is not over, a grand jury is hearing testimony today from deputies and retired sheriff employees. The GBI and FBI are still here investigating. We will hear nothing until after the grand jury meets and they bill or no bill the case.

...your very right ,those that wear the badges are not above the law they swore to uphold..they are not the law, they serve and obey the law also or they are not doing their jobs they took an oath to uphold...breaking their oath makes them guilty of breaking the law by only pretending to be police officers and impersonating a police officer is also against the law punishable by the laws...its grand to be a spirit appointed lawyer,lol...

You need to hunt up some REAL facts before you post what you THINK you know, because from reading THIS post you certainly DON'T know what you're talking about.

everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,but it still doesn't change the fact they should be charged with procession of meth just as anyone else would be...no judge or police officer is above the law they have swore to uphold to protect its citizens...they are citizens too performing a job, they are not the job...

The deputy DIDN'T have 'possesion' of the drugs BEFORE he found it.
So why should he be charged with possesion?
IF he had it BEFORE that I could understand your line of thinking.
But he didn't have it before.
The way you say it means that EVERY officer that has EVER found any drugs and had them in their hands should be charged with possesion.
