Agreed. Outside of my grandmother's, The Village is my favorite place to eat. El pueblito is second, but only if you get it to go, so you don't have to look at the depressed waiters while you eat.

Of course with how cheap people are in this county with their tips, I'd probably be depressed too.

Also also, I'd love to have an olive garden in Dalton, but I doubt darden foods would allow it. They already have a Longhorn and a Red Lobster on the interstate. I'd accept a mellow mushroom also. The interstate next to the college would be the PERFECT spot for it.
I wonder

Can only afford to eat at Little Rome about once a year but they have a great salad bar. Best one in town.....maybe the only one in town?
Pizza Hut has a salad bar.

The Village Cafeteria serves canned food,
such as green beans, mashed potatos and pinto beans
STRAIGHT from the CAN.

I wonder if y'all know that????

The good thing about the Village/Ednas etc., is being able to get a variety of "as you say:canned veggies" and I don't have to go grocery shopping, open the can, cook the veggies, clean up the mess and store the leftovers in the frig just to be thrown out later. Tough cooking for one.

You are absolutely 100% right about that.
I hate to deal with left overs!!!!
I hate to grocery shop too!!!!
I hate to clean up afterwards too!!!!
All that leaves is the cooking and the opening...that I don't mind.
So see...it is better to just go...to one of those you named.
I like the chicken & dressing best for the meat choices.
I hope you are going to have 'home made' for the holiday.

Little Rome is way overpriced for what little portions you get - one trip to the salad bar 4.59 and the bowl is too small. Milton makes the sauce at home - how clean is his house? who knows - look at his wife and you can guess..... I looked at their menu online and it shows a slice of pie at 4.59 - 6.00 - come on people - store bought pie at those prices.... I wish the place would just close down so a real Italian place could open.

Little Rome has gotten a bit high priced since they first opened up.
But their food is good,I don't think it's 'frozen' food
or if it is,it's not 'pre packaged' frozen food.
I think the owner still makes the pasta dishes.
Since it's the only Italian resaurant around here...
well...that says it all in a nut shell...
it IS the ONLY Italian restaurant around here.
the pizza hut is more italian than little rome. All the snobs go sit in there and pay big bucks for Stovers lasagna haha.

I am Italian and do not like anything cooked at Little Rome's. It is obvious the locals like the food there as the parking lot is always full and they have been here for years. I am afraid the locals would not like true Italian food.
The best place I have found to be the closest to true Italian food, like I cook, is Macaroni Grill in Chattanooga.

Who gives a S* if it's real italian food? You think people eat at McDonald's because it's real Irish food too?

I think the only reason they do so well is because it is one of the only "nice" places to go. They have really done alot with the outside of the building. It's been years since I have been inside but Id guess they fixed it up too. I could totally be wrong but thats just my take on it. I've never been crazy about the food other then one of the pizza's I do remember liking

The place is horrible. The food is frozen because i have received my food cold before. I told them about it and they heated it up. The food was bubbling all over the place that it actually got on my shirt. The salad bar area smells like urine. I will never go to that crap whole again. Gondolier in Dalton has a nice sit down restaurant now. That place is so good!

I just ate my usual meal at Little rome and they have raised the price of it $4.oo..Holy Shit!!
$4.oo??.. over 60% increase?
I mean comeon Milton..10% people can accept..even 20%...
But a 60% increase...Wow,thats to much.
I heard it was that fat obese wife of his that keep pushing the prices up. Damn she's a big one. I guess it takes a lot of food for that big sow. Hell I think I would put her old big azz on a diet if I was him. She's bigger than Milton. Poor old fellow.
