Just imagine if we could talk to these victims today. What happened? Where did they go? What would they tell us? Yet we were left with the carnage of butchered bodies, and the pain of those left behind to pick up the pieces. 40 years
later I still pray for their souls.

I am not "I Luv LA." I am "I Love LA." However, we seem to be on the same path on this one. Especially his explanation of Medicare and the deficit, etc.

I know it causes brain strain for some of you when someone actually goes to the trouble to explain the nuances of an issue when it is much more fun to jump to a conclusion without all the facts, then jump and yell and scream and whine about fascists and socialists and all the other tinfoil hat talking points sold by that snake-oil salesman, "reformed" drunk Glenn Beck and his fellow Fox "News" right-wing nutcase smoke machine.

Now, back to the Manson case......

It's the bleeding hearts in some countries (Canada and US) who started this feastering pusy boil. The term death row is just a phrase used to appease the public. It give us a false sense of "justice has been served". Justice is served when these non contributing pieces of dog shit are put to death - period. I DON'T WANT MY TAX DOLLARS KEEPING WORTHLESS SUBHUMANS ALIVE!!! Our prisons are busting at the seams and our taxes continue to climb. Strange how we can not help that unfortunate child who has done nothing wrong but we can sure dole out the coin to a system that DOESN'T WORK. Our judical systems enables criminal behaviour, otherwise our prison would be empty. Places like Singapore have less than 1% crime. I'll tell you why. If a crime is committed and someone is found guilty, there is no prison sentence, there is a 60 cent bullet put through their head. That will give you bleeding heart something to cry about. Get it through your empty heads these subhumans are not worth our hard earned dollars, stop lobbying the government for more prisioners right and think about you rights to control where your tax dollars are being spent.

Same goes with Sirhan Sirhan.
Because California didn't have the death penalty when he was convicted.I think it was one or two years AFTER his conviction, that California adopted the death penalty. Had Manson committed the crimes just a couple years later....he would be dead now.

40 years ago, the most heinous murder scene was uncovered at the Sharon Tate home. 8 innocent lives slaughtered like pigs should have taught us a huge lesson about drugs, criminals, and insanities like the Manson group.

Did we learn our lesson?

Having study this subject matter, the system failed Charles Mason, period. Read the book called, Sleeping in the playtime of others. His story of his beginning and when he was released from prision what he told the parole board. This will give you some prespective on how the system/or society for that matter failed him. You must be able to understand what he a young lad at 6yrs had to endure. Does this excuse his action, no. Nevertheless, our system must learn for this, and find ways to prevent such an act. I don't understand why this story is being printed. Lives where lost, and we don't need to relive this nightmare, but we do need to understand how this nightmare began.
What if he had chosen to do something good with his life instead of the path to hell he took? This psycho-garbage taught about sympathy for those who have had a rough life is no more than an excuse for to commit murder. The system or society failed him?
How dare anyone be so stupid to believe this manure. What good did this specimen ever bring to society?

I wonder how the 8 destroyed felt about these drug-crazed satans who gave them no consideration? Most of the muderers came from good homes. Something is horribly missing in someone who allows themselves to fall so low as the Mansons. 40 years later we are still paying for their room and board and even new teeth! Millions upon millions, now CA is starving. Bad Karma?

Have you ever shot someone? have you ever pointed a gun at soemone? With the proliferation of violent crime in America, it would seem rather simple to pull out a gun and shoot someone if they are in the act of commiting a crime. Try it sometime, it is not easy at all. If you have a brain...Even if it is justifiable, a normal person is incapable of killing another human being.
I know from personal experience facing intruders in my home during 2 seperate incidents, and my Father was a Deputy with the LA County Sheriff's...
Manson never even killed anyone with his own hands.
You are a blatant coward, and do not speak for the rights of Americans to bare arms. This is a great example of the great gun laws being imposed. The innocents will die with no protection, and the evil will have any and every arm available. Suppose the victims had some means of protection on them? This could have changed history. Sadly, they were empty-handed and their fate was sealed.

Yes, me too, and given a one-way ticket to your house with the ankle bracelets so they cannot leave your premises. That would be a blessing for America. And good for you, too!

Same goes with Sirhan Sirhan.

I witnessed Roman Polanski arrange the murders with Charles Manson.
I was 5 years old, and no one listened to me when I told them what I had seen/heard.
Manson KNOWS that Polanski was just as guilty as he is, told people so, and they KNEW that Hollywod would want to have a cover-up.
They threatened Manson and told him that HE and HE ALONE was going to get the full blame, so he got (forced into) a secret deal.
Manson took sole blame (covering up for Polanski) and Manson would have a great life in prison, as the worlds worst murderer (or some crapola).
Manson was NOT given much of a choice, as otherwise Hollywood movie studios would have just had Manson killed and framed (as the sole planner of the crimes) after his death.
Either way, HOLLYWOOD WAS GOING TO PROTECT POLANSKI!!

In 1977, I asked the CBI to investigate Polanski for the murders, and POLANSKI INSISTED ON TALKING IN FRONT OF NEWS CAMERAS THAT WERE THERE (because of the child sex trial). Polanski heard the QOUTES of what I had heard said by both Polanski AND Manson, Polanski made a funny face and said, "He MUST have been there, as that IS WHAT WE SAID THAT DAY!"
Polanski admitted that he could do whatever he wanted, because he was a famous Hollywood director. Polanski then bragged that he would kill MORE people, in the future. This is when celebs stopped supporting Polanski in the chilkd sex case. They did NOT want to be Polanski's NEXT MURDER VICTIMS!
I saw this interview on live TV, and yet no one seems to have a video copy of it.

He has not been executed because in 1972, the California Supreme Court found that the death penalty constituted cruel and unusual punishment under the state constitution. As a result, 107 individuals had their sentences changed to other than death. In November 1972, nine months after the decision, the California electorate amended the state constitution and overruled the State Supreme Court.
Subsequent California and Federal Supreme Court Decisions have flopped back and forth, however once the sentence has been reduced to other than death it can never be changes so each time it was thrown out another bunch got reduced sentences.
You are 100% right about the history of the death penalty in California.
One reason for the flip/flop in the law was that Manson was PROMISED that he WOULD NOT BE EXECUTED, if he stopped telling people the truth (that Roman Polanski had arranged the murders of all of those people with Manson)!
Manson (and some of his followers) had originally told the truth about the fact that Polanski did NOT want to be married to Tate ("she is too old for me"- Roman Polanski) and he did NOT want to RAISE children. Polanski had told Tate that he wanted to HAVE children (sexually, NOT BECOME A PARENT), and Tate got pregnant to try and FORCE POLANSKI TO STAY MARRIED TO HER!
Prosecutors HAD TO KISS THE ARSES of ALL THE CROOKED HOLLYWOOD ACTORS/DIRECTORS/PRODUCERS/STU DIO OWNERS! It IS and will always be a COMPANY TOWN!

Charles P, I had always wondered if Polanski was involved. Where were you when the set-up was overheard? Do you know why this info has not lead to arrest, or do you think it will?

The LA police would NEVER investigate, even though I asked. They said that it would make the author of "Helter Skelter", Vincent Bugliosi?, look bad. They did not want to harm a former prosecutor, who would be asked why they stopped Manson from saying this in court!!
The CBI had worried looks on their faces when Polanski confessed. I never heard why they did not go any further? They did NOT want to talk to Polanski on TV, but Polanski INSISTED! Polanski has always thought of himself as having a non stick coating.
The conversation took place at the Spahn? Ranch (I do not know the right spelling). Manson was still living there at the time. Manson would see movie people and harass them to get some money from them, if Manson would leave them alone. Or some paid money if the movie people (during work, between scenes, etc.) wanted to have sex with the women Manson controlled!!

Thanks for answering Charles P. I believe you. I hope you will continue to post and the truth will prevail. I know how absolutely crooked the courts and police can be. It is true in most states, so I presume that CA is even worse. Money and power make people do crazy things. Hollywood controls a lot. They can sway opinions and attitudes that should not be swayed. Falsehoods that people should never believe can circumvent the best of moral turpitude.

Did you live at Spahn Ranch as a child or were you a visitor there? It must have been quite an experience.

I hope with the net that you will be able to be heard and information acted upon. Believe me, I am not the only one who believes Polanski was the "director".
