Good Job. Ernie should be able to give out tickets to people who do not obey the rules of his job. Some people who drive have NO respect for the cross-guards or anyone else, walking or driving. But then again how many people should not be driving any way.

these drivers are probably the same ones that don't stop when a bus stops with their flashing red lights.
The crossing guards should have disposable cameras with them so they can take pictures of the license plates of those who cut them off or try to run them over. Or else try to write down the license number so these drivers can get a ticket. |

I see some real jerks on the road around schools, mostly immigrants from Central Asia. C'mon you jerkish arseholes -- there are KIDS around!!!
Anybody know: - Can you turn left if the pedestrians are in the crosswalk on the other side of the intersection since you aren't crossing the crosswalk? - Must the pedestrians be all the way across the street and the crossing guard's sign down before continuing across the crosswalk? |

I appreciate these guards putting their life on the line protecting our kids!

Bureaucratic Mess: I'll try to answer
1. Not sure, but I assume it should be ok. 2. I would say yes. If the crossing guard hasn't lowered their sign, he must think that the cars still need to stop. What if the kids drop something before they got to the sidewalk and run back to get it? We all know that happens alot. you don't want cars to start up before everyone is off the street. |

The same story of crazy drivers on Woodland Hills Elementary School. I even called the cops to monitor the streets since there are toooooo many people just blowing the stop signs. I have seen cars smashing parked car's side mirror and leaving the scene and I have seen people double park. But I have also seen some traffic volunteers have no regard for flow of traffic either. It's always people first and cars last and so there is a LONG line of cars trying to get closer and closer to the school. Either way crossing guards is a difficult task and people have to drive carefully.
During school hours and even after school hours people should completely stop at stop signs but i have seen approximately 90% of drivers just slowing down and never come to a complete stop. Some people never even slow down, they just blow the sign entirely. Follow the rules people, stop when there is a stop sign. And if a crossing guard is there, be extra vigilant about following the rules. |
