The SPI's main job is to influence legislation that is helpful to education. Tom has the skill set to get this done.

Wrong. Diane Lenning does. She is not backed by the SEIU or the racist group La Raza

Larry Aceves is qualified beyond the states requirements. He has held the position before just in a slightly smaller scale. Torlakson was a teacher YEARS ago and in reality is just replacing his career as a legislator with something he thought would be an easy position of power. Aceves makes a valid point went he says that Charter schools aren't being held accountable like public schools even though only a small percentage are performing any better than those public schools. I believe in Aceves' focus on how schools are performing not Torlakson's emphasis on health and fitness.

I made a typo. I agree with Torlakson's valid point about Charter schools however I am still for Aceves. Simple typo, I apologize.

Republican congressional candidate Stephen Broden stunned his party Thursday, saying he would not rule out violent overthrow of the government if elections did not produce a change in leadership.

Is this what republicans are all about, will they bring change in the form this republican seems to promise? Or will it end up in the new educational standards by them?

If Torlakson and Aceves polls are 50/50, what miracle it would be for Diane Lenning to defeat Aceves and defeat Torlakson.
She will not draw any vote from the liberals; maybe she will draw slightly from independents, but mostly from the republicans. It will only end up in handing the race to the liberal Torlakson by splitting the republicans' votes.
This is not the time to talk about pure ideology. Any candidate and their supporters who are strongly convicted for conservative values should fight for it in the primary.
Same goes for Lt Governor write-in candidate.
An experienced conservative who strongly support her said that write-in candidates traditionally never win.
Alaska's Murkowski is an exception. She is incumbent. she is known. She is 50/50 with republican primary winner Joe Miller, and each has poll number way above democrat opponent.
A vote cast for the unlikely-to-win conservative candidate is a vote cast for a democrat.
That's unthinkable when it comes to our children's education milieu.
Please see the big picture.

With limited information, I voted for Tom Torlakson. He seems more qualified, and more dedicated to the kids.

of course, I didnt' see a candidate that supported school vouchers:) If there is one they'll get my vote.

We need this in our schools.
REMMBER - WRITE IN DIANE FENNING ON YOUR BALLOT!
I just heard about her, and will do all that I can to announce her to other parents...although I have no children (thank God) in this system that I continue to pay for and do not like the QUALITY...I still pay, and "they" still want more as the quality seems to worsen. Reminds me of mold and there is only one way to clear this fungus OUT.

Parents, they are YOUR children and you should be watching how your most precious are being taught (or not).

Yard signs, get them up, nobody knows about her - change that, and hurry!
