Bratton was certainly better than Parks. He made some stupid policy changes (Flashlights, etc.) but he ruled his underlings with an iron fist and got things done.

Beck will be a good replacement. Im just surprised the commission didn't select 3 candidates "reflective" of Los Angeles.

Hmmm, could they possibly have picked the ones who had the best answers?

Hey, Pete Malloy, you are such an impressive and a reasonable person. NOT. This is Los Angeles you idiot! Wake Up and smell the urine on the sidewalk. Im sorry, you cant smell it in Santa Clarita or Valencia where you live right?

Bratton was a GOD DAMN political idiot. Just another New York big mouth like they all are that come out here and bitch about how great New York is all of the time.

Gates was the Chief of the modern LAPD and he drove Bill Parker, the MAN himself. Beck is not the "Good" replacement, McDonnell is you punk. Jim deserves it much more because he has endured thru the Parks and Bratton eras. Beck was promoted thru the ranks by Bratton solely, which I suspect right off the bat. I even have more respect for Mike Moore for the same reasons as McDonnell. Mike had to fight and scape his way up and although he's a micro manager, he believes in the LAPD that much. He and McDonnell deserve it. The citizens deserve so much better than what we have given them. Im not in patrol but we all should get back to patrol, back to our roots and actually do what is right instead of belonging to specialized units and milking the overtime at $60.00 plus an hour.. All of you take LA City dollars and spend it in outside cities and counties. You are all users and leeches.

The Commission did pick the best of the interviews, big surprise! That's the way its suppose to be done you idiot, don't be so surprised by common sense and then label it progressive and revolutionary. Its just plain common sense.

I live in LA, but dont begrudge anyone of my fellow officers who choose to live in a much nicer city the the city we work in. As far as buying police equipment, that is the responsibility of our employer, not us. I dont defend cops because they are cops like you do. I defend good quality people who deserve it, not just because they got their fat asses over a wall at the academy and nothing else. Thats a hard question to answer when it shouldn't be. Im leaning towards God causing more deaths in the history of the world, not Satan. I am a squared away cop with the rank and bravery medals to prove it.

I dont think you are an LAPD officer, because no one I know on the job could be so depressed, angry, bitter, mean spirited and such a sad individual. If you are, I urge you to get help. By the way I came on under Gates, and am a proud PII Dog. I too have the medal and ribbons you speak of. I am humble, do the best job I can for the citizens of LA and yes, I do live in the City.
