15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.

Strange you cite verse 17 above but leave it out. hhhhhmmmmm

Maybe you should include verse 18 as well. Oh thats right you guys separate 17 and 18 and apply to the Apostles only.

Do you believe as verse 16 states? Then wonder what verse 17 says about those who believe?

16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Notice that the pronouns in verse 17 and 18 point back to verse 16 i.e., those who believe and are baptized.

The "they" in verses 17&18 are the same people in verse 16. Looks like your verse is proving more than you teach...

It isnt because the Holy Spirit doesnt indwell the believer, if that is where you are headed Shawn. As I said, this opens the door for more threads which we will discuss at a later date.

You seem to be changing your mind a bit so lets ask you once more.

Does the Holy Spirit personally indwell every believer? You stated yes last time, but since Johnnies comments you have changed your wording a great deal.

Heath I have great hope that demons may yet be cast out!

But in this case who are the "they" if it is any believers then I have to ask how another passage about gifts being given out to each:

2 Cor 12:7But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit (L)for the common good.

8For to one is given the word of (M)wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of (N)knowledge according to the same Spirit;

9to another (O)faith by the same Spirit, and to another (P)gifts of healing by the one Spirit,

10and to another the effecting of (Q)miracles, and to another (R)prophecy, and to another the (S)distinguishing of spirits, to another various (T)kinds of tongues, and to another the (U)interpretation of tongues.

11But one and the same Spirit works all these things,(V)distributing to each one individually just as He wills.

In 1 Cor it appears that not all people are given the same things as gifts go. Thus there seems to be a difference in how these gifts of Mark 16 are given compared to the rest of the gifts.

Secondly there is no Biblical evidence to show that all believers did those things. If they did then the sick would all have been healed by the 5000 on the first day that God added to the Church. However that does not seem to be the case.

And finally there is that small prophetic statement that says they will drink poison and not be harmed, please someone, anyone on the planet quote me BCV where this happens?

I can not find where this prophetic statement was ever shown to come to pass in the Bible.

So could it be the "they" are the small original group of believers themselves since they constituted all who believed at the time these words were spoken but still it does not resolve the poison.

However if someone still believed in the gifts, this passage would quickly quiet them through death to prove it or through fear.

Where is the fulfillment of that prophetic statement people? It is the elephant in the room that speaks to the truth of the longer ending of Mark!

He is a person.

Christ is a person who is in me.

The Father is a person who is in me.

Yet They are all one God in heaven.

Are you saying the two conservative Church of Christ preachers were just debating for fun-sake? LOL.

They had two “opposing” propositions. You are trying to mend them by straddling the fence. We both know that this has caused division within the Churches of Christ. One can Google this and see. You are wishing to deceive people, which is not the mark of one saved.

Oh Heath, you should have gone to Paris, Texas this past week and visited the largest Baptist Church in the city. They held a revival and the 800 person Sanctuary was filled everynight and even had to hold two services. The hall ways and classrooms were filled. The biggest thrill was all the church of christ who attended, and returned more than once, from the largest coc in town. It was awesome I heard.

That does not surprise me. There are compromising churches of Christ out there that are Baptist-want-to-bes. That's the popular thing to do in our pluralistic society.
