My condolences to the family. My friend swam to the daughter and got her to Thomas, almost drowing herself. A wave came and the currents were strong, taking Thomas and the girl in one direction and my friend in another.
No one should have been in that water with such high winds and bad currents. the sun and blue skys make you think it is all ok, but was not. The 17 year old lifeguard should get a medal for bravery.

how sad.

When something like this happens, and the child is rescued and the father survives, we all say "that could have ended in disaster, thank god". But here we are, with this story that doesn't have a happy ending. Thank god the girl survived. But think of what she is going to live with now. The guilt trip this girl is going to give herself will be bad. I hope, for this child and her other siblings, they receive a lot of counseling for this. How very, very tragic. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

How tragic, keeping both families in prayer.
What a stupid comment

Hey, to Lowell Girl at Heart. What guilt trip? You are some kind of idiot to suggest that this is anything more than an act of nature. This girl and family should only be sad to lose their dad. You should be ashamed and should feel all the guilt in the world for even suggesting it. I pray that she never reads your irresponsible comment, for it may lead her to feel guilt where she should never even consider it. There should be no guilt in playing on the beach. You fool.

For what reason do you call me an idiot? Did it hurt your feelings when I gave a reasonable comment based on your stupid comment? If so, good. You should still ba ashamed and instead of attacking me with a short quip like this, you should be apologizing at length for your irresponsible prior comment. You can take the girl out of Lowell but you can't take the Lowell out of the girl.

You may not be an idiot, just someone who didnt take the time to really read the post that was written by Lowell Girl at heart. If you re-read her post and still have the same feelings about it, then i agree with her, otherwise, just say you misread it and move on.

Thanks Jamie Lynn

At least one person reads through these posts. Some just pick and choose what they will read and then make comments that have nothing whatsoever to do with the original post.

In particular you write "But think of what she is going to live with now. The guilt trip this girl is going to give herself will be bad." It shouldn't be a factor. And Jamie Lynn, maybe she should have re-read her post before hitting "Poat Comment"
