Water/Sewege Bill -Cable Access

As you all of you now know I split my time between CC and Raleigh. In CC our Water/Sewage bill runs about $45 a month. In Raleigh, my water/sewage bill runs about $50 bucks EVERY 3 MONTHS!!!!!
What is the difference? Seriously...I'd like to know?
And as long as we're talking utilities...why are we still obligated to use Comcast for our cable/internet needs? When I'm in Raleigh if my cable/internet goes down there is a Time/Warner technician at my door within a few hours. If Comcast goes down they tell you that it will be at least 3 days before someone can come out. WTF is going on???(BTW I do know that Comcast is now a subsidiary of Time/Warner).

Each post puts me in a different city. What gives? I live, and post from, Chase City.
Anyhow, we dealt with Comcast by dropping them and going to Verizon's package deal with Direc TV, that gives us DSL (We're lucky! We live about 4 blocks from Verizon's CC Central Office) that is about as fast as Comcast's. The signal quality with Direc TV has been better overall than Comcast's, and we can get more Virginia stations. They do not have as good a music selection, however, as we like old-time country.
